A RESOLUTION MAKING OFFICIAL FINDING AND
DETERMINATION AS TO THE POPULATION AND
NUMBER OF INHABITANTS OF AND WITHIN THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AS OF JANUARY
l, 1978.

WHEREAS, the City Council of Grapevine, Texas has found and
determined that it will be for the benefit of said city to
�. have a revised estimate of the population and number of in-
habitants, and that the city make an official finding there-
of; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has directed that an unofficial
census of the papulation of the City of Grapevine be taken;
and,
WHEREAS, the 1970 population count taken from the North
Central Texas Council of Governments Census Fact Book" ,
plus the number of new dwelling units less the number of
demolitions and using a vacancy rate of 4.9% and using
3 .24 persons per dwelling units as the multiplier; and,
WHEREAS, based upon such census, and on such investiga-
tion, it has been found and determined that the City of
Grapevine, Texas, as of January 1, 1978, actually has
within its limits a population of 12, 264; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GR.APEVINE, TEXAS:

SECTION l. That the City Council has officially found and
determined, and does now find and determine, that the popu-
lation of the City of Grapevine, Texas, as of the lst of
January, 1978 was 12, 264.
SECTION 2. And further, the said City Council now orders
and directs that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the Texas Highway Department so that they may change the
population signs on the roads and highways entering and
leaving said City of Grapevine, Texas.
PASSED AND APPROVED, on this the 17th day of January, 1978,
at the City Hall, in Grapevine, Texas, by unanimous vote of
the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas.
