A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE
TO APPLY FOR A GRANT FROM THE OFFICE OF TRAFRIC
SAFETY.
WHEREAS, urban areas across the state are experiencing a
�"' dramatic increase in auto accidental deaths; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is also experiencing
�rwr this state trend; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety will provide funding
for approved selective traffic enforcement project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS;
Section l. That the City of Grapevine Police Department
is authorized to request funding from the Office of Traffic
Safety for off duty patrolmen on overtime basis as provided by
personnel regulation to enforce traffic laws selectively to
prevent deaths.
Section 2. That the City of Grapevine understands that
the Office of Traffic Safety will provide 100� funding for the
project, if approved.
