A RESOLUTION URGING THE DEPARTMENT OF
HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OF
TEXAS TO EXPEDITE HIGHWAY SIGNALIZATION
AT CERTAIN DESIGNATED LOCATIONS WITHIN
THE CITY LIMITS OF GRAPEVINE , TEXAS
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Grapevine
recognizes the need for improved traffic control in the City
of Grapevine ; and
WHEREAS , certain improvements are of vital impor-
� tance to the safety, welfare , and economic growth of the
City of Grapevine and its citizens ; and
WHEREAS , numerous new subdivisions are being devel-
oped and traffic is increased heavily by lake visitors during
late spring and early fall , thereby creating hazardous condi-
tions at certain intersections ; and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Grapevine ,
Texas , is of the opinion that it is in the best interest of the
City of Grapevine and the State of Texas to proceed with the in-
vestigation of signalization at certain designated intersections .
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE , TEXAS :
Section l. That the State Degartment of Highways and
Public Transportation of Texas is hereby urged and encouraged
to proceed with the investigation and subsequent signalization
of the following intersections :
����, (1) Spur 382 at Dove Road
(2) Spur 382 at Park Boulevard
Section 2 . That the City of Grapevine acknowledges
and expresses its appreciation of the fine work done by the
State Department of Highways and Transportation of the State of
Texas in construction and maintaining a system of highways un-
equaled and further pledges its support and assistance in all
endeavors .
Section 3 . That the City Secretary is directed to
send a certified copy of this resolution to the Commissioner
fox� the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation.
PASSED AND APPROVED on this the 17th day of April ,
1979 , by the City Council of the City of Grapevine , Texas .
