WHEREAS , the City Administration previously
advertised for construction of a parking lot as an inte-
gral part of the Civic Center Community Building, a conven-
tion center facility for the City of Grapevine , Texas , that
is presently under construction, all in accordance with
�,, Article 2368 Texas Rev. Civ. Stat . Ann. ; and,
WHEREAS , the City Council , based on the City
Administration, rejected the bids that were received due
"`�"' to the fact that such bids were well in excess of the amounts
budgeted for said parking lot ; and,
WHEREAS , due to the utmost necessity to act at once
to preserve the property of the City and to expedite the con-
struction of said facility, the City Administration was in-
structed to seek out bids on the Civic Center Community Build-
ing parking lot on a negotiated basis .
NOW, THEREFORE , PREVIOUSLY CONSIDERED, ALL OF WHICH
ARE DEEMED INCORPORATED INTO THE BODY OF THIS RESOLUTION BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GR.APEVINE :
Section l. That the contract to construct the park-
ing lot at the Civic Center Community Building in accordance
with the plans on file at the City is hereby awarded to Ed
Bell Construction Company, Inc. for the negotiated unit prices
and estimated quantities as shown in Exhibit "A" attached here-
to and made a part hereof.
Section 2 . That this resolution shall go into effect
� from and after its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Grapevine, Texas , on this the 15th day of May, 1979 .

to do the neccessary excavation, and sub-grade preparation
�«� to install 6" of cement treated base , and to apply a double
application of Slurry Seal 3/4" thick.

(2) 1,167 lin. ft . of 24" curb and gutter

(3) 455 lin. ft . of asphalt curb @ $ 2. 75--- $ 1 , 252 . 25
Please note: All excavation and sub-grade preparation will
be done on a time and material basis . krhen all costs are
totaled, a 18% profit and overhead markup will be used.

tation is for acceptance within 30 days . After 30 days , we ;
reserve the r_i�ht ot adjust this quotation. �

Our terms are, as usual, cash upon completion of the work
described above. If the construction period exceeds 30 days , '
then paymer.ts shall be made monthly on or hefore the lOth of
each month for all work completed during the preceding month,
less 10%. When our job has been completed, all monies then d�ie ,
including the amount retained shall become payable. ;
