A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GR.APEVINE , TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE
CITY OF GRAPEVINE TO APPLY FOR A GRANT FROM
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION
PROVIDING NECESSARY FUNDING, WITHIN THEIR
GUIDELINES , FOR PERSONNEL AND THE PURCHASE
OF EQUIPMENT.

WHEREAS , urban areas across the nation are
experiencing demands for Police services , and
� WHEREAS , the City of Grapevine, Texas is also
experiencing this nationwide trend, and
WHEREAS , Lake Grapevine, a U. S . Army Corps of
Engineers facility, located principally in the City of
Grapevine , Texas , and
WHEREAS , the City of Grapevine has law enforce-
ment responsibility in the U. S . Government parks and water
located within it' s limits , and
WHEREAS , this responsibility is placing an undue
hardship on the resources of the City of Grapevine, and
WHEREAS , the Law Enforcement Assistance Administra-
tion will provide approved personnel and equipment to alleviate
this hardship .
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL

OF THE CITY OF GR.APEVINE , TEXAS :
Section 1. That the City of Grapevine Police Depart-
ment is authorized to request funding from the Law Enforcement
Assistance Administration for 100% funding for necessary per-
sonnel and equipment.
Section 2 . That the City of Grapevine understands
that the Law Enforcement Assistance Admin.istration, ta.nder it`s
guidelines , will provide lOQ'/o necessary funding for the project ,
if approved.
