WHEREAS, the State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation for the State of Texas has previously approved
the construction of proposed Highway 121A from Bedford to
Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, Tarrant County and the State have begun the
right-of-way acquisition program; and
�„ WHEREAS, the proposed highway is of vital importance
to the welfare and economic growth of the City of Grapevine,
its citizens,and is an important and necessary link between
Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, the City of Grapevine and to all
the citizens of Tarrant County; and
WHEREAS, the right-of-way acquisition program has slowed
substantially in recent months ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine is
of the opinion that it is in the best interest of the State
and County to proceed expeditiously in acquiring the neces-
sary right-of-way and proceeding with construction of this
important link in the State Highway System; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine pledges to assist and
cooperate with the State of Texas and Tarrant County in every
way legally possible to speed this program along.
� NOW, THEREFORE, ABOVE PREMISES, which are hereby adopted
and approved

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section l. That the State Department of Highways and
Public Transportation of Texas and Tarrant County are hereby
urged and encouraged to proceed with acquiring the necessary
right-of-way and commencing construction on proposed State
Highway 121A between the City of Bedford and the City of
Grapevine as rapidly as is feasible.
Section 2 . That the City of Grapevine acknowledges and
expresses its appreciation of the fine work done by the State
Department of Highways and Public Transportation of the State
of Texas and Tarrant County in constructing and maintaining a
system of highways unequaled and further pledges to support
and assist both entities in their endeavors.
Section 3 . That the City Secretary is directed to send
a certified copy of this resolution to the Commissioner for
the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation
' and to the Commissioner' s Court of Tarrant County.
