WHEREAS , the City of Grapevine has been advised
of the application of Southwest Airlines to the Texas Aero-
nautics Commission for routes to Austin , EI Paso , Lubbock
and Midland/ Odessa; and
�. WHEREAS , the City of Grapevine believes that the
maximum number of citizens of the North Central Texas area
are best served by flights at the Dallas� Fort Worth Airport;
and
��
WHEREAS , the orderly planning and development of
the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport is in the best interest of the
development of the North Central Texas Area ;
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE , TEXAS :
1 . The City Council of Grapevine does hereby
recommend to all governmental units exercising jurisdiction
over the scheduling of flights that all scheduled flights to
and from the North Central Texas Area shall be operated to
and from the Dallas�Fort Worth Airport .
2 . That the greatest public convenience and
necessity requires the development of full connecting
patterns of scheduled air service available to intra - state ,
inter-state and foreign passengers at the airport of the North
� , Central Texas Region , the Dallas/ Fort Worth Airport .
" 3 . That this resolution shall take effect immediately
�.� and that the proper regulatory bodies be advised of its
adoption .
