BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
WHEREAS, General Telephone Company operates in the City of
Grapevine pursuant to a duly enacted franchise and,

, WI-IEREAS, Texas Rev. Civ. Stat. and Art. 1446C, Public
Utility Regulatory �1ct delegated rate making authority for
�`` ' telephone companies in the State of Texas to the Public
Utility Commission of Texas and;
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine as the grantor of a f ranchise
�o General Telephone Company and in the interest of its
citizens and the users of phone service in the City has a
significant and continuing interest in the rates for services
to be charged by the telephone company and;
6aHEREAS, it is anticipated that General Telephone will make
an application for a rate increase in the near future and;
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the citizens
of Grapevine that the City request the right to appear in
the capacity of an intevenor in any request for rate increases
filed by General Telephone before the Public Utility Commission.
NOW THEREFUIZE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRA.PEVINE:
Section 1. At such time that General Telephone Company files
°� a request with the Public Utility Commission of Texas for a
rate increase of the present authorized rates the City Attorney
� ,, is hereby authorized and directed to file a request for and
in behalf of the City of Grapevine and to be allowed to in-
tervene in said proceedings .
Section 2. The City Attorney is further directed to report to
the City Council and the City Nlanager all data and information
relative to any proposed increases in rates .
