A RESOLUTION MAKING OFFICIAL FINDING AND DETERMZNATION
AS TO THE POPULATION AND NUMBER OF INHABITANTS OF AND
WITHIN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AS OF JANUARY 1,
1977.
Wf-IEREAS, the City Council of Grapevine, Texas has found and
"'�"" determined that it will be for the benefit of said city to have
, a revised estimate of the population and number of inhabitants ,
' and that the city malce an off icial finding thereof; and,

6�I-IEREAS, the City Council has directed that an unofficial census
of the population of the City of Grapevine be taken; and,
WHEREAS, the 1970 population count taken from the "North Central
Texas Council of Governments Census F'act Book" , plus the number
of new dwelling units less the number of demolitions and using
a vacancy rate of 4.9°o and using 3.24 persons per dwelling units
as the multiplier; and,
WHEREAS, based upon such census , and on such investigation, it
has been found and determined that the City of Grapevine, Texas ,
as of January 1, 1977, actually has within its limits a
population of 11,474; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:

"`"���' That the City Council has of�icially found and determined, and
, does now find and determine, that the population of the City of
,,,�,' Grapevine, Texas, as of the lst of January 1977 was 11,474.

And further, the said City Council now orders and directs that a
copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Texas Highway
Department so that they may change the population signs on the
roads and highways entering and leaving said City of Grapevine,
Texas .
PASSED AND APPROVED, on this 25 day of Januarv , 1977,
at the City Hall, in Grapevine, Texas, by unanimous vote of the
City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas.
