HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1977-010 _ , CITY OF GRAPEVIN� RESOLUTION � 77-10 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE REPEALING �" �' RESOLUTION �75-8 PASSED BY THE GRAPEVINE CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 18, 1975 WHICH RESOLUTION CREATED AN INDUSTRIAL COMMlTTEE AND PROVIDING �,.� FOR THE CREATION OF AN INDUSTRIAL COMMITTEE WITH A DIFFERENT METHOD OF SELECTING MEMBERS AND PROVIDING FOR TERMS OF SAID MEMBERS. WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas d�ems it necessary to �stablish an Industrial Committee. WHEREAS, said Industrial Committee shall have the following objectives: 1. To actively market and promote industrial and commercial enterprises to locate in Grapevine. 2. To provide necessary information to prospective companies in an efficient and organized manner. 3. To analyze present utility services and recommend extentions, im- provements, or other facilities that will encourage use of land not �. , presently dAveloped. 4. To analyze the present highway, rail, and street facilities and recommend extensions, improvements or new facilities that will better provide the necessary access to potential industrial and commercial land. 5. To determine long term needs for water and sewer facilities to adAquately serve the pro�ected growth of Grapevine. WHEREAS, said committee shall consist of the following members and term of office: ' Eight (8) members wl�o are citizens of the City of Grapevine,two (2) of whom are directly involved in local industry, shall be appointed by the City �` `` Council for a one (1) year term; and The City Council may in its discretior� appo+nt three (3) members of the C ity Co��nci I to a Iso serve on the Industria l Commi ttee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, Section 1 . Resolution �75-8 is hereby repealed. Section 2. There is hereby created and pstablished an Industrial Committee whose objectives and goals are those listed in 1 through 5 above. �, :., Sectio� 3. The membership of the Industrial Committee shall co:�sist of eight (8) City of Grapevine citizens to be appointed by the City Council for a 11��.�� term of one (1) year. Two (2) of the eight (8) members of the committee shall be invo)ved in local industry, Section 4. The Council, in its d'+scretion, may appo:nt three (3) members of the City Council to serve on said lndustrial Committee as additio:ial members for a term of one (1) year.
