RESOLUTION APPROVING APPL.ICATION FOR PRELI�4INARY
LOAN FOR LOW-RF_NT PTJBLIC HOUS ING
t,ti1HEREAS, it is the policy of this locality to eliminatg
substandar_d and other inadequate housin�7, to p.revent the spread
of slums and blight, and to realize as soon as feasible the goal
�,,, of a decent home in a suitable living environment for all of its
citizens; and
��I--IEREAS, under the provisions of the United States Housinc�
�"' Act of 1937, as amended, the Department of Housing and Urban
Development is authorized to provide financi_al assistance to
local public housing a�encies for undertaking and carrying out
preliminary planning of low-rent housing projects that will
assist in meeting thi.s goal; ancl
I.+If-IEPEAS, the Act provides that there shall be local determina-
tion of need for low-rent housing to meet needs not being adequate-
ly met by private enterprise and that the Department of Housing
and Urban Development shall not ma�ce any contract with a public
housing agency for preliminary loans for surveys and planning in
respect to any loti�T-rent housing projects unless the governing
body of the locality involved by resolution approved the applica-
tion of the p;.zblic housine� agency �or such �reliminary loan; and
��I-IERE�S, the �Iousing .'�uthOri�y of_ the City of Grapevine , T�xas
(herein called the "Local Authority" ) is a public housing agency
and is applying to the Department of Housing and Urban Development
for a preliminar;� loan to cover the costs of surveys and planni.ng
in co��anection evith the development of low-xent housing.

Grapevine , Texas , as follocArs:

such low-rent housing at rents within the means of low-income •
famil�_es.
2. The aPplication ef the Local A�.ithorit�� to the Department
of FIousirg and tJrban Develo?�ment for a prelimi.nary loan in an
amount not to exceed $12, 500.00 for surveys and planning in
connection �vith lov�r-rent housing projects of not to exceed
apvroximately 25 divelli.ng units is h�reby approved.
