RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS TO PURCHASE A HIGHSPEED
L„ANDLINE COMMUNICATIONS TERMINAL AND SYSTEM IN
BEHAI,F OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE
� WI-iEREAS, highspeed telecommunications equipment in
the City of Grapevine, Texas is presently nonexistant
or inadec�ate; and
�
WHEREAS, the structure of the statewide highspeed
teletype system has been determined and development of
regional systems will continue on the basis of the state-
wide concept established by the Texas Criminal Justice
Division, Office of the Governor, State of Texas ; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Information
Users Group in conjunction with the Texas Criminal
Justice Division has submitted bidding specifications
to prospective v2ndors ; and after considering the bids ,
has determined the low compliant bidder; and
WHEREAS, it is the apinion of this City Council
that the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Grapevine will be served by participating in this co-
operative program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE THAT:
�"' "': 1. The City of Grapevine desires to participate in
the highspeed teletype network expansion by
�, acquiring a highspeed terminal and adjunct
equipment.
2. The City of Grapevine is eligible to participate
in the Highspeed Teletype Network Expansion by
virtue of compliance with the Criminal Justice
Division�s established funding criteria, namely,
that this agency has at least 18 hour dispatch-
ing 7 days per week and has 10 full time
commissioned and certified police officers or
deputies.
3. The North Central Texas Council of Governments
is authorized to enter into binding contract with
the low compliant vendor and to purchase tele-
communications equipment in behalf of the City
of G rapevine.
4. This City understands that the Texas Criminal
Justice Division a.s providing 85% funding and
that the amount of $1,546 is our matching share
for the purchase of the equipment and the
� administrative cost of the project.
5. This City understands and accepts the special
�.� conditions placed by the Texas Criminal Justice
Division and the Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration on the receipt of government funds
for telecommunications equipment.
6. To indicate the City�s desire to participate
in this program, a copy of this resolution will
be forwarded to the North Central Texas Council
of Governments.
� 7. This City's matching share will be forwarded to
the North Central Texas Council of Governments
upon receipt of an invoice .
