Pittard Councilman � Millard Dilg Councilman � i i constituting a quorum, and C � Ted Ware Chairman i Harlen Joyce Member I J.� Davis Member Joe Kennedy Member � Don Stiles Member i Jerry Jordan Member � ; constituting a quorum, and � Mayor Tate called the meeting to order. � The Invocation was given by Jerry Jordan. � Mayor Tate opened the public hearing of zoning cases: (Z-73-12� , Mike McKool requesting "I-1�� Light Industrial District on (13.5) acres in the J.R. Doss Survey, Abstract No. 440. (Z-73-13) , Robert L. Taylor requesting +'I-1+� Light Industrial District on (77) acres in the J.R. Doss Survey, Abstract i No. 440. � Robert Taylor spoke on behalf of the zoning applications. iHe stated the tracts are located South of Hughes Road, North � of Glade Road, West of Grapevine-Euless Road, and will be between State Highway 121A and Spur 360 upon there completion. I He presented a map showing the present zoning of property � I adjacent to the airport of the surrounding cities. He stated � the general zoning alon g the periphery of the airport is an � industrial district. He stated users are beginning to come in the area, and inquiring as to the zoning and utilities. The following persons spoke in favor of the zoning applications: Randel Bennett Don Reems � John Rich � Jerry Raston questioned the need of industrial zoning on i all of the tracts. � � { Councilman Eidson stated the entire area needs to be planned � as to the future zoning, and agreed the area would not be � conducive to residences. He stated certain sections would � � � � need to be commercial and others industrial, but felt the city would be against giving blanket industrial zoning, whereas the city would retain some control. With no further discussion of zoning cases (Z-73-12� and (Z-73-13) , Mayor Tate closed the public hearing. � Mayor Tate opened the public hearing of zoni.ng case (Z-73-14� , Love-Henry & Associates requesting "PD" Planned Development District on (35) acres in the T. Mahan Survey, Abstract No. 1050. A1 Telfski, planning consultant of the applicant, spoke on behalf of the zoning application. He gave a slide presentation of the proposed planned development, which is located on the Northeast corner of the intersection of Northwest Highway and park Blvd. He stated the (13) acre tract along Northwest High- way is requested to operate under a +�C..2r' Community Business District for a shopping center, and the remaining (20) acres to the North is requested to operate under a �+R-3�t Multiple- Family District. He stated (2� acres has been dedicated to the city for park Blvd. Mr. Telfski stated plans are to have the majority of traffic enter the shopping center from Park Blvd. He stated the multiple- family section will have a density of (17.98) units per acre, with (71� one-bedroom, (181) two-bedroom, and (109) three-bedroom apartments. He stated the project will be developed in three phases as follows: Phase I - shopping center and (100) units - within (36) of the apartment complex months Phase II - (126) units of the apartment - within (12) complex months after start of phase I Phase III- (136) units of the apartment - within (12) complex months af ter start of Phase II Mr. Telfski stated present market studies . available for the mid- cities area indicate apartment rentals range from ($150. to $250. ) per month per unit. He stated Inwood Drive would not be connected to the shopping center. The following persons spoke in opposition to the zoning application: Bill yancey 136 Manor Way Mr. & Mrs. Tom McAfe�rty 146 Manor Way Jean Wickman 220 E. Nash Street Joe Wright 156 Manor Way Don McClelland 109 Cross Creek With no further discussion of zoning case (Z-73-14) , Mayor Tate closed the public hearing.
