Proposed telephone rates for the Grapevine exchange by General Telephone Company. B. Proposed telephone rates for the Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport by General Telephone Company. In accordance with Article 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S. , as amended by Chapter 227, Acts of the 61st Legislature, regular session , 1969, the City Council Agenda was prepared and posted on this ` the 6th day of August, 1973. , � � 0 CITY SECRETARY STATE OF TEXAS � f�� � OOUNTY OF TARRANT � � CITY OF GRAPEVINE � � � � The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas, convened in regular meeting at 7:46 p.m. , on this the 9th day of August, � 1973, with the following members present, to-wit: � � William D. Tate Mayor � Doil Dalton Councilman � Tommy Eidson Councilman � Phil Parker Councilman � C.D. Pittard Councilman Millard Dilg Councilman constituting a quorum, with Thelma Conine absent, and Floy Ezell City Manager Jim Hancock Assistant City Manager Randy Vinson City Secretary John Boyle City Attorney Rayford Price Attorney Mayor Tate called the meeting to order. � The Invocation was given by Councilman Pittard. � , � � Mayor Tate opened the public hearing on the proposed telephone rates for the Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport. Richard Felps, Director of Accounting and Revenue for General Telephone Company of the Southwest, presented the proposed rates. He stated the telephone rates had been approved by the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Board. He stated General Telephone Company has over twenty-two million dollars invested in equip- ment at the airport, of which over two million dollars was received for aid in construction from the Airport Board. General discussion was held. The following persons spoke in opposition to the proposed telephone rates for the airport: Richard Akins Gerald Gregg Jack Tillery � Jimmy Hawkins � Linda prr � Councilman Eidson moved to continue the public hearing on the proposed telephone rates for the Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport. Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: � Ayes: Tate, Dalton, Eidson, Parker, Pittard, Dilg . Noes: None Absent: Conine Mayor Tate recessed the meeting at 9:22 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 9:39 p.m. , with the following members present: Tate, Dalton, Eidson, Parker, Pittard, ' Dilg. � l � � Mayor Tate opened the public hearing on the proposed tele- phone rates for the Grapevine exchange. R.W. D�an, Irving District Manager, presented the proposed rates. He stated there is a (41�� overall rate increase proposed. The Mayor and Councilmen expressed concern regarding the poor service they had received from General Telephone � ` Company, and asked if any plans had been made to upgrade the service. Mr. Doan stated he felt the service to Grape- vine was good, but would be glad to investigate any problems. The following persons spoke in opposition to the proposed telephone rates for the Grapevine exchange: Joe Kennedy W.D. �est Jesse Woods Mrs. Jesse Woods Bob Nunnery Phil Cain Jerry McCullum General discussion was held. Councilman Eidson moved to continue the public hearing on the proposed telephone rates for the Grapevine exchange and authorize the City Attorn ey to request any additional infor- mation as needed from General Telephone Company. Councilman � Pittard seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote; Ayes: Tate, Da.lton, Eidson, Parker, Pittard, Dilg jNoes: None � Absent: Conine There being no further business, Mayor Tate adjourned the meeting at 12;21 a.m. PASSED AND APPROVED, this the 21st day of Auqust , 1973.
