HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-02-03 Regular Meeting - 231 STATE OF TEXAS � � COUNTY OF TARRANT � CITY OF GRAPEVINE � Reel 1, Side 2 Start O .� On the 3rd day of February, 1970 at 7:30 P.M. , the City ' Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in a regular meeting at the City Hall with the following members present: Willis Pirkle Mayor Doil Dalton ) Lee Thompson ) Tommy Eidson ) Councilmen A1 Harwell ) G. S. Benedict ) r Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order and Councilman Eidson gave the invocation. The minutes of the revious m tin f Ja ar 2 r �' p ee g o nu y O, 1970 we e read and approved. � kp i � Frank Medanich of First Southwest Company, the City' s fiscal �;, agents , was present to discuss the sale of authorized tax bonds. �; Mr. Medanich presented two exhibits of bond payment schedules; k one on a 20 year payback and the other on a 25 year payback. � Each exhibit showed schedules of a $300,000 and $450,000 bond issue figured on 7.5�. Mr. Medanich made a firm quote of 7.20% interest in behalf of his company. Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to authorize the issuance of $450,000 in Tax Bonds and to accept the offer of First Southwest Company to purchase the bonds at 7.20% with a 20 year pay out plan. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Ben edict . Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Thompson, Eidson, Benedict & Harwell. Noes : None � Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to authorize the City Engineers to procee wi�h the taking of bids for the construction of the �oY� D au�+� �,-,..,f�� ;���--�=�a-�,���t plant and outfall lines. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Dalton. Motion PREVAILED by the follow- ing vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benedict , Harwell, Eidson, Dalton & Thompson. � Noes : None �. k Annexation Ordinance 70-2, annexing land South of Bear Creek � t� was read on second reading. Councilman Eidson made a MOTION � � to pass said Ordinance 70-2 on second and final reading. � Motion SECQNDED by Councilm an Thompson. Motion PREVAILED by � the following vote: � � Ayes : Councilmen Thompson, Benedict, Eidson, Dalton & Harwell. � Noes: None � � a �" � g �' �. s � � � � � a s �' �� �1i� �� u ORDINANCE 70-2 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXTING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: PRO- VIDING THAT THE AREA DESCRIBED�.BELOW� SHALL BECOME A PART OF THE SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND THE IN- HABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED: FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. Councilman �B�xedict made a MOTION to approve the request of ` replat of Lots 9, 10, and 11, Block 109, College Heights Addition � to be designated as one lot known as Lot A, Block 109, College Heights Addition. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Eidson. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: �� Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Harwell, Eidson , Benedict , & T�ompson. Noes : None � I � Consideration was given to naming the road from Dove Road, North and along the West property line of the Little John Addition #3, and continuing to its termination point at its intersection with a Corps of Engineers Park road. Councilman Eidson made a MOTION � to name the said road Hood Lane. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Benedict. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Eidson, Harwell, Dalton, Thompson & Benedict. � Noes: None The need for a sewer line running South from the new sewer lift station on Dove Road was discussed. Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to authorize the construction of a sewer line from the said lift station, South along the bran ch approximately 700 feet . Motion SECONDED }�y Councilman Dalton. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Thompson, Benedict , Da�ton, Eidson & Harwell .
