On the 24th day of March , 1970 at 7:30 P.M. , the City Council
of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in a call meeting with
the following members present:
Willis Pirkle Mayor
G. S. Benedict )
Tommy Eidson )
A1 Harwell ) Councilmen
Doil Dalton )
Lee Thompson )
The purpose of the meeting was for the Council to review the
bids opened on March 18, 1970 on the construction of a sewage
I treatment plant to replace the City' s main plant .
Bob Nichols , Engineer of Freese, Nichols and Endress, the
City' s Consulting Engineers, was present and recommended that
� the City accept the low bid of Huff Construction in the
amount of $488, 651 .00. Councilman Benedict made a MOTION to
accept the recommendation of Mr. Nichols, subject to the
I concurrance of the Texas Water Quality Board and the Federal
Water Pollution Control Administration, and to authorize
the Mayor to make application to the Department of Housing
and Urban Development for the additional Grant Funds needed
to meet the increased costs resulting from higher bids due to
inflationary effects on prices. Motion SECONDED By Council-
man Eidson. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Tho mpson, Dalton, Harwell , Eidson & Benedict .
Noes: None
Meeting adjourned.
