On the 7th day of April, 1970 at 7:30 P.M. the City Council
of the City of Grapevine met in a regular meeting in the City �

Hall with the followin members resent:

f Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order and Councilman Dalton

� Mr. Garnett Keithiey of the General Telephone Company was
� present for discussion of telephone service. The Council re-
j lated some of the citizens complaints concerning local tele-
phone service. Complaints named concerned error in billing
of long distance calls, general service, and delay in connect-
ing new services. The Council also reques�ed that a telephone
business office be set up in Grap evine. Mr. Keithley advised
' the Council that new equipm.ent is being installed that will
eliminate the service troubles and the delays in new connections,
and a supervisor and office will be placed in Grapevine. Mr.
Keithley also advised that the company' s program for Metro ar�d
, Direct Dialing is on schedule and still plan to have it
� complete in 1971 .

j Councilman Harwell made a MOTION that a fee of $25.00 be set .
! for the use of the City� s tractor when us ed to load heavy ob-
' jects on lots that are being cleaned of debris by the City.
i Motion SECONDED by Councilman D�lton. Motion PREVAILED by the
i following vote:

i Ayes: Councilmen Harwell, Dalton, B,enedict, Eidson & Thompson.

Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to adopt Ordinance No. 70-17
amending the City Code to provide for fees for dumping in the
dump ground, the time the dump ground will be open for
dumping, prohibiting garbage contractors from other cities
from dumping and providing for a penalty for violation.
Motion SECONDED by Councilman Harwell. Motion PREVAILED by
the following vote:

Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Eidson , Benedict, Dalton & Harwell.
Noes: None

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER
5 OF THE CITY CODE SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR
FEES FOR DUMPING IN THE CITY R€�U�E DIS-
POSAL GROUND; ESTABLISHING THE HOURS FOR '
DUI�ING; PROHIBITING GARBAGE CONTRACTORS
FROM OTHER CITIES FROM DUNIPING; PROVIDING
FOR A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION AND PROVIDING
FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE.

The proposed replat of the Little John Addition was studied. ;
Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to decline the replat , since `
the lots are not of sufficient widths . Motion SECONDED by
CouncilmanBenedict. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote:

Noes: None €

Election Judge W. K. Stewart delivered the City officials �
election returns to the Council. Mayor Pirkle appointed the e
City Council as a committee to canvas the election results. �
Councilman Eidson made a MOTION that Resolution R 70-4, de- �:
claring the results of the election be passed. Motion
• SECONDED by Councilman Thompson. Motion PREVAILED by the
following vote:
Ayes : Councilmen Harwell, Thompson, Benedict , Eidson & Dalton. �
Noes : None �

Said Resolution 70-4 is on file in the City' s Official Resolu- �
tion Book and a copy is attached hereto. �.
Proposed Ordinance 70-16, amending the City Code so as to re-
vise the backfilling of street excavations was reviewed.
Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to pass said Ordinance 70-16. �
Motion SECONDED by Councilman Dalton. Motion PREVAILED by �
the following vote:
