AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 9 , CHAPTER 2, SECTIONS
2 AND 4, BY ADDING STOP SIGNS , AND ONE WAY STREET
SIGNS, BY AMENDING TITLE 9 , CHAPTER 4, BY DESIGNA-
TING CERTAIN NO PARKING AREAS AS DESCRIBED HEREIN;
AND BY AMENDING TITLE 9 , CHAPTER 3 , SECTION 1 BY
ALTERING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS ESTABLISHED
FOR VEHICLES UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 167

REGULATING TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAYS , UPON THE BASIS OF
' AN ENGINEERING AND TRAFFIC INVESTIGATION UPON
CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS , OR PARTS THEREOF,
'�"" WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE
AS SET OUT IN THE ORDINANCE ; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE ; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
Section l. The City Code of Grapevine, Texas , Title 9 ,
Chapter 2, Section 2 , is hereby amended by adding Stop Signs at
certain locations described herein:
On Redwood Trail at Park Boulevard
On Cimarron Trail at Dove Road
On Sagebrush Trail at Dove Road
On Cimarron Trail at Hood Lane
On Hoodridge Court at Hood Lane
On Santa Fe Trail at Hood Lane
On Martin Court at Dove Loop Road
On Mockingbird Lane at Dove Loop Road
On Laguna Vista at Dove Loop Road
�°v� On Mulholland Drive at Dove Loop Road
� Section 2 . The City Code of Grapevine, Texas , Title 9 ,
'``�'° Chapter 2, Section 4 is hereby amended by adding One Way
Street Signs at certain locations described herein:
On Park Boulevard at W. Northwest Highway
On Park Boulevard at Dove Road
On Park Boulevard at Redwood Trail
Section 3 . The City Code of Grapevine, Texas , Title
9 , Chapter 4, Section 4, is hereby amended by adding No Parking
Signs at certain locations described herein:
On north side of Dove Road, 50 ' west of Hood Lane
On north side of Dove Road at centerline intersection
of Park Boulevard
Section 4. Whereas , Section 167 and 169 of Article XIX,
R. C. S . 6701d, Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways , provides
that whenever the governing body of the City shall determine
upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that any
prima facie speed therein set forth is greater or less than is
reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist at any
�°'�� intersection or other place or upon any part of a street or high-
way, with the City taking into consideration the width and con-
� dition of the pavement and other circumstances on such portion of
',�, said street or highway, as well as the usual traffic thereon, said
govern body may determine and declare a reasonable and safe prima
facie speed limit thereat or thereon by the passage of an ordinance,
which shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice
thereof are erected at such intersection or other place or part of
the street or highway, now therefore, �
Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investi-
gation heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Section
167 and 169 of Article XIX, R.C. S . , 6701d, Uniform Act Regulating
Traffic on Highways , the following prima facie speed limits here-
after indicated for vehicles are hereby determined and declared to
be reasonable and safe; and such speed limits are hereby fixed at
the rate of speed indicated for vehicles traveling upon the named
streets and highways , or parts thereof, described as follows :
30 MILES PER HOUR
On West side of Park Boulevard, 150 ' south of Dove Road
�°' On West side of Park Boulevard, 150 ' south of Redwood
Trail
On East side of Park Boulevard, 150' north of W. North-
�.� west Highway
On East side of Park Boulevard, 150' north of Redwood
Trail
Section 5. If any section, sentence, phrase, word,
paragraph or provisions of this ordinance or the application of
that section, sentence, phrase, word, paragraph, or provision to
any person, situation or circumstances is for any reason adjudged
invalid, the adjudication shall not affect any other section, sen-
tence, phrase, word, paragraph or provision of this ordinance or
the application of any other section, sentence, phrase, word, para-
graph or provision to any other person, situation or circumstances ,
nor shall such adjudication affect any other section, sentence,
phrase, word, paragraph or provision of the Grapevine City Code.
The City Council declares that it would have adopted the valid
portions and applications of this ordinance without the invalid
part, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are declared
to be severable.
Section 6. A person, firm or corporation violating the
terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a

misdemeanor, and shall be fined not less than One Dollar ($1. 00)
nor more than Ttao Hundred Dollars ($200. 00) .
�,�, Section 7 . The fact that the present ordinance and
regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas , are inadequate to
properly safeguard, the health, safety, morals , peace, and general
welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas , creates
an emergency for the immediate preservation of public business ,
property, health, safety and general welfare of the public which
requires that this ordinance shall become effective from and after
the date of its passage and it is accordingly so ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Grapevine, Texas , on this the 21st day of November, 1978 .
