Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order. Councilman Thompson ` gave the invocation. The minutes of the previous meetings of November 16th and November 23rd were read and approved. ; Mayor Pirkle stated this meeting was for public hearing on annexation of government property and part of Grapevine Lake. � No persons present voiced any objection to the proposed annexa- tion. Councilman Parker made a motion to pass Ordinance 71-40 on first reading. Councilman Thompson seconded the motion. , Motion prevailed by the following vote: 7 Ayes: Councilmen Parker, Dalton, Eidson and Thompson. 1Voes: None ORDINANCE 71-40 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF GR.APEVINE, TEXAS: PROVIDING THAT THE AREA DESCRIBED BELOW, SHALL BECOME A PART OF THE SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND THE INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ' NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED: FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL ' BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED: AND CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. Councilman Eidson made a motion to pass Ordinance 71-36 on second reading. Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. Noes: None � ORDINANCE 71-36 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF GR.APEVINE, TEXAS, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT ON CERTAIN PROPERTY OF TEXAS POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY FOR THE ; CONSTRUCTION OF TRANSFORMER STATION; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. _ � � � � � � Councilman Dalton made a motion to pass Resolution R71-14, � � a resolution of the C.ty Council of the City of Grapevine, � Texas, authorizing it� Chief of Police to make provision for its regularly employed law enforcement officers to assist � _ any other county or municipality, when a state of civil emer- � gency is declared to exist in said county or municipality, or if there exists a need for additional law enforcement � officers to protect the health, life and property of said � � � county or municipality by reason of riot, unlawful assembly, � # or natural or man-made calamity. ORDINANCE 71-37 � AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 3, � SECTIONS 3 AND 4 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE � CITY OF GR.APEVINE, TEXAS REVISING WATER � RATES AND THE EFFECTIVE DATE TO BE ; � PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DE- �, CLARING AN EMERGENCY. � �: Councilman Parker made a motion to pursue the engineering study � � on sewage to Shorecrest Acres. Councilman Thompson seconded the � motion. Noes: None ORDINANCE 71-38 , AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE NUMBERING OF ALL HOUSES, ESTABLISHING A BASE LINE AND PROCEDURE OF NUMBERING, RESPONSIBILITY OF OWNER, SIZE OF NUMBERS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. Ordinance 71-39, a written Ordinance directing Publi�ation of Notice to Bidders was introduced and read in full. Councilman Thompson made a motion to pass Ordinance 71-39. Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Eidson, Dalton, Parker and Thompson. Noes: None Councilman Eidson made a motion that W. T. Kanape be discharged as assistant to the City Attorney in the boundary negotiation with Southlake, and that our City Attorney be authorized to employ additional help if he so desires. Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Eidson, Dalton, Thompson and Parker. Noes: None ' Councilman Eidson made a motion to give Floy Ezell and Jim � Hancock a 5/ increase in salary retroactive to November 15, 1971. Councilman Parker seconded the motion. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Eidson, Par�er, Thompson and Dalton. Noes: None Councilman Eidson made a motion to authorize City Manager to spend up to �5.00 per employee for Christmas gifts. Councilman Thompson seconded the motion. Motion prevailed by the follow- ing votes: Ayes: Councilmen Parker, Thompson, Dalton and Eidson. Noes: None Council approved City Manager ta serve on Tarrant County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
