AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, ABANDONING AND VACATING
x�� A PORTION OF AN UNNAMED ALLEY IN THE CITY OF

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AS HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED;
_`.; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DECLAR-

ING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the owners of property abutting a certain
unnamed alley in the City of Grapevine, Texas , have re-
quested the right-of-way and/or easement as hereinafter
described, be closed, abandoned and vacated; and
WHEREAS, the right-of-way and/or easement of said
alley as hereinafter described is not now needed for
public use and will not be needed in the future for a
public use; and
WHEREAS, the closing, abandoning and vacating the
right-of-way and/or easement of said alley will relieve
the City of Grapevine, Texas, from the cost and expense
of maintaining said property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS;
SECTION l. That the right-of-way and/or easement
more particularly described as follows :
D`'� Being that portion of Block 15, Original Town of
Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas in the City of Grape-
vine, Tarrant County, Texas, and being more particularly
described as follows :
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of lot 16 in said
block 15 for the north line of Hudgins Street and the
west line of lot 16,
THENCE north 60 feet along the west line of said
lot 16 for the east line of an alley,
THENCE north 89 degrees - 36 minutes west 18 feet
to the west line of an alley,
THENCE south along the west line of an alley for
60 feet to the north line of Hudgins Street,
;� ,, THENCE south 89 degrees - 36 minutes east 18 feet
along the north line of Hudgins Street to the place of
beginning and containing 1080 square feet,

and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and vacated for
public use, and the same is hereby closed, abandoned
and vacated insofar as all public right, title and in-
terest in and to said described portion of said right-of-
way and/or easement is concerned.

:;:�' SECTION 2 . That the Mayor be, and is hereby autho-
� rized to execute a Quit-Claim Deed to convey the hereinafter
�� described property to the City of Grapevine, the repuLed

owner of the property abutting said right-of-way and/or
�� easement.

;; O SECTION 3. That the terms and provisions of this
� ordinance shall be deemed to be severable and that if
�. the validity of any section, subsection, word, sen-
��"�` tence or phrase shall be held to be invalid, it shall
not affect the remaining part of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. The fact that said right-of-way and/ar
easement is no longer needed by the public for public
usage or traveling and would create a hardship or burden
upon the City of Grapevine, Texas, to keep open and
maintain such alley, creates an urgency and an emergency
for the immediate preservation of the public health,
safety and general welfare which requires that this
ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after
its passage and it is accordingly .so ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, on this the lst day of August, 1978.
