HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-03-07 Regular Meeting STATE OF TEXAS � COUNTY OF TARRANT � CITY OF GRAPEVINE � On the 7th day of March, 1972 at 8:00 P.M. the City Council of. the City of Grapevine , Texas met in regular meeting with the following members present: .-1 Willis Pirkle Mayor ; Doil Dalton ) Tommy Eidson ) Lee Thompson ) Councilmen Phil Parker ) Al Harwell ) Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order. Councilman Parker gave the invocation. Mrs . Nettleton spoke to the Council about the Garden Club and other organizations in town and of their interest in keeping the Railroad Depot building for a meeting place and possibly a future museum. Councilman Eidson made a motion for the City Manager to proceed with plans to have the Depot building moved to the City Park. Councilman Parker seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by ' the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Eidson, Thompson, Parker and Harw�ll. Noes: None Councilman Harwell made a motion to approve zoning change Application Z 71-4 on which Joe Wright and others requested R-3 Zoning . Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Dalton, Eidson, Thompson, Parker and Harwell. Noes: None Councilman Dalton made a motion to pass Ordinance 72-8 on second reading. Councilman Thompson seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Eidson, Thompson, Parker and Harwell. Noes: None ORDINANCE 72-8 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE l, CHAPTER 8, SECTION 16 Of THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF' ' GRAPEVINE, TEXAS PROVIDING FOR THREE WEEKS VACATION AFTER EMPLOYEE COMPLEIES 15 YEARS OF SERVICE; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. ' Councilman Eidson made a motion to table any action until � further study could be made on the application. Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. The lots on new plat to be 48R, 49R and 64R. � � Councilman Eidson seconded the motion. Noes: None E � � Councilman Eidson made a motion to pass Resolution R72-5, a �: resolution abandoning certain roads in Lakecrest Addition to the � City of Grapevine . Noes: None z � Councilman Thompson made a motion to appoint the following men to the Charter Study Committee: Earl Deacon, Harold Kaker, Ed fr Lancaster, Bill Reed and Milla rd Dilg . Councilman Parker seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: � � � ' Ayes: Councilmen Harwell, Parker, Eidson, Dalton and Thompson. i _ Noes : None i ry Ordinance 72-13, an Ordinance providing that whenever there is � x a conflict between the City Building Code and any other Ordinance or Code , that the provision of the Building Code will take ; precedent ,. providing for a savings clause , and declaring an i emergency, was introduced and read in full . ; ; ; Councilman Dalton made a motion that Ordinance 72-13 be taken up 3 $ and considered as an emergency measure. Councilman Thompson � ' seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: �'� :r Ayes: Councilmen Parker, Harwell , Eidson, Thompson and Dalton. z Noes : None � � The Mayor then declared the Ordinance to be an emergency. Councilman Dalton then made a motion that Ordinance 72-13 be � passed on first reading . Councilman Thompson seconded the motion. § ;; Motion prevailed by the following vote: , � Ayes : Councilmen Eidson, Thompson, Dalton, Harwell and Parker. ; � Noes : None � � � , � � 3: � Councilman Harwell made a motion that red lights on fire- men� s personal cars not be used, in order to comply with state laws governing red lights used on emergency vehicles . Councilman Eidson seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Eidson, Parker, Harwell & Ualton. Noes: None Councilman Eidson made a motion to pass Ordinance 72-10, 72=10A. Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Thompson, Eidson, Parker and Dalton. Noes: Councilman Harwell . ORDINANCE 72-lOA AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING MAXIMUM LEGAL SPEEDS UPON CERTAIN HIGHWAYS AND STREETS OR PARTS THEREOF WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY uF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AS SET FORTH IN THE ORDINANCE AND PRO- VIDING A PENALTY OF' A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200 F'OR THE VIOLATION OF' THIS ORDINANCE. Councilman Eidson made a motion to extend the Specific Use Permit for Mr. Bransford on the Dellwood Acres property for one year. Councilman Harwell seconded the motion. The � motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Harwell , Thompson, Eidson, Parker and Dalton. Noes : None The meeting adjourned.
