AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 2, SECTIONS
2, 3,4, & 5 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS, REVISING WATER AND WASTEWATER RATES AND THE
EFFECTIVE DATE TO BE OCTOBER 20, 1977; PROVIDING
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND

�`"` BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION l. Title 7, Chapter 2, Sections 2, 3, 4, and
5, of the City Code of the City of Grapevine, Texas be
amended as follows:
7-2-2 WASTEWATER RATES
There is hereby levied and shall be collected monthly
from every customer of the sewage system of the City, a
service charge far the use of such sewerage system, which
charge shall be determined as follows:
Residential Service:
Customer uses water up to:
3, 000 gallons monthly $3.10 minimum
4, 000 gallons monthly 3 .35
� 5,000 gallons monthly 3 .60
6,000 gallons monthly 3.85

8, 000 gallons monthly 4. 35

Commercial Service:
Customer uses water up to:
3,000 gallons monthly $4.35 minimum
4, 000 gallons monthly 4.60
5,000 gallons manthly 4.85

8,000 gallons monthly 5.60
9,000 gallons monthly 5.85

For each one thousand (1,000) gallons in excess of fifteen
thousand (15, 000) gallons and up to and including thirty
thousand (30, 000) gallons of water per month, there will
be a charge of fifteen cents (15�) per thousand gallons ;
for each one thousand (1,000) gallons of water in excess
of thirty thousand (30, 000) gallons of water, there will be
a charge of ten cents (10�) per thousand gallons .
7-2-3 MINIMUM WASTEWATER CHARGES
Wastewater for a residence not connected to the water
��' system of the City of Grapevine, Texas shall be at a monthly
rate of four dollars and ninety cents ($4.90) .

7-2-4 WATER RATES
There is hereby levied and shall be collected monthly
from customers of the water system of the City the following
charge for water service:
A. ) Water Consumption Monthly Rate
First 2, 000 gallons $4.10 Minimum
Next 3, 000 gallons 1.60 per 1, 000 gallons
Next 5, 000 gallons 1.00 per 1,000 gallons
Next 10,000 gallons 0.85 per 1,000 gallons
Next 30,000 gallons 0.75 per 1,000 gallons
Next 50,000 gallons 0. 70 per 1,000 gallons
Next 50,000 gallons 0.65 per 1,000 gallons
Next 100,000 gallon� 0.60 per 1,000 gallons
All over 300, 000 gallons 0.55 per 1,000 gallons

B. ) For a water meter installed for construction or
other temporary purposes on a fire hydrant:
� $1.25 per 1,000 gallons and a minimum charge of $30.00
7-2-5 MINIMUM CHARGES
In any case the following monthly minimum charges shall
be made upon customers of the water system:

,�--- SECTION 2 . This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force and effect from October 20, 1977.

SECTION 3. That if any section, subsection, word,
sentence or phrase of this ordinance shall be declared
invalid or unconstitutional such declaration shall not
affect the validity of any other part of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdomeanor
and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined $1.00 to $200.00.
SECTION 5. It, being for the public welfare that this
ordinance be passed and such amendments be made, there exists
�" an emergency and public necessity that the rule requiring
this ordinance to be read on two seperate occasions Be and
�ri° the Same is Hereby Waived and this ordinance shall now be
placed on its third and final reading to its passage, and
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval and publication.
