HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-11-21 Regular Meeting Reel 15, Side II Start 450 - End 079 STATE OF TEXAS � COUNTY OF TARRANT � CITY OF GRAPEVINE � On Tuesday night November 21 , 1972 at 8:00 P.M. the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular meeting with the following members present: � Willis Pirkle Mayor Thelma Conine ) Phil Parker ) Tommy Eidson ) Council Doil Dalton ) Members Bill Tate ) Carlton Pittard ) . City Attorneys - John Broyles and Tim Whisler. Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order. Councilman Dalton gave the invocation. Councilman Dalton made a motion to approve the minutes of the ; previous meeting of November 7, 1972. Councilwoman Conine seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Conine , Parker, Eidson, Dalton, Tate, Pittard and Pirkle. Noes: None A1 Mikusek, architect, presented park developraent plans on city parks at Wall Street , Parr Road and Dove Road. Mr. Dick Carlson and Loyd Ballard from Irving representing the `i , Telephone Action Committee spoke to the council regarding the ; rate increase request made by the General Telephone Company to the City of Irving . They asked the council not to take any action on a rate increase request until a study could be completed. Councilman Parker made a motion to pass Ordinance 72-35. Council- man Eidson seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Parker, Eidson, Da.lton, Tate , Pittard, Pirkle and Conine. Noes : None ORDINANCE 72-35 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 70-10, THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF � GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, GRANTING A ZONING CHANGE ON TWO TRACTS OF LAND WHICH ARE WITHIN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AND MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREIN; ORDERING A CHANGE IN THE USE OF SAID PROPERTY FROM R-3 TO "PD" PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT; CORRECT- ING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP; PRESERVING ALL OTHER PORTIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE DETERMING THAT THE PUBLIC IN- ; TEREST, MOFZALS AND GENERAL WELFARE DEMAND A ZONING CHANGE AND AMENDMENT HEREIN MADE; PROVID- ING A PENALTY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. (Owner - William K. Reed, Trustee) Resolution R72-33, a resolution accepting membership for the Grapevine Public Library in the Fort Worth Majo r Resource System was introduced. Councilman Dalton made a motion to pass Resolution R72-33. Councilman Tate seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes : Eidson, Dalton, Tate, Pittard, Pirkle , Conine and Parker. Noes: None i S { � �2 f The need for water line extensions in Canterbury Village was discussed. The project included laying new lines to serve � areas where service is not now available and to loop existing � ; lines to improve pressure in areas already being served. � 3 Councilman Parker made a motion to proceed with installation s of these lines . Councilman Dalton seconded the motion. The � `; motion prevailed by the following vote: � � � Ayes: Conine, Parker, Dalton, Tate, Pittard and Pirkle . � � Noes: None � � Abstained: Eidson � � � � ; City Manager Ezell showed plats of proposed water line ex- � n tensions from the water treatment plant to Highway 121 in the ' Northeast section of the city. Councilman Eidson made a motion � � to proceed with this project if the right-of-way was given. � � Councilman Pittard seconded the motion. The motion prevailed � by the following vote: � � Ayes : Conine , Parker, Dalton, Tate , Pittard, Pirkle and Eidson. � � Noes: None � � � m � The need for new radios for the police cars was discussed. � � Councilman Tate made a motion to ask for bids on all new radios . € � Councilman Pittard seconded the motion.
