HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-03-06 Regular Meeting�_. _ k4 Reel 17, Side II Start 000 - End 205 STATE OF TEXAS � COUNTY OF TARRANT X CITY OF GRAPEVINE � On Tuesday night March 6 , 1973 at 8:00 P.M. the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular meeting with i the following members present: Willis Pirkle Mayor Phil Parker ) Doil Dalton ) Council Thelma Conine ) Members Tommy Eidson ) Carlton Pittard ): Bill Tate ) Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order. Councilman Dalton gave the invocation. Councilman Eidson made a motion to approve the minutes of February 20th meeting . Councilwoman Conine seconded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Parker, Dalton, Conine , Eidson, Pittard, Tate & Pirkle. Noes: None City Manager Ezell introduced Mrs . Robbie Gibbs , librarian to the City Council . Mrs . Gibbs suggested the names of Bruce Weatherford, Riney Jordan, Susan Timmons , and Hazel Cashman -- for consideration as library board members . Councilman ; � Eidson made a motion to appoint all four to the library board. ; Councilwoman Conine seconded the motion. The motion prevailed i by the following vote: ; Ayes: Dalton, Conine, Eidson, Pittard, Tate, Pirkle & Parker. Noes: None Councilman Dalton made a motion to pass Ordinance 73-9. Councilman Eidson �econded the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Conine , Eidso:�, Pittard, Tate, Pirkle , Parker & Dalton. Noes: None ORDINANCE 73-9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 70-10, A ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, GRRNTING A ZONING CHANGE ON A TR.ACT OF LAND IN THE A. F'OSTER SURVEY, ABSTRACT 518 , IN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS , AND MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREIN; ORDERING A CHI�NGE IN THE USE OF SAID PROPERTY FROM R-2 TO I-1; LIGHT INDUSTRY; CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP; � i PRESERVING ALL OTHER PORTIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE; ; � PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST, MORAL..S AND GENERAL WELFARE DEMAND A i ZONING CHANGE AND AMENDMENT HEREIN MADE; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. � Ordinance 73-10, an ordinance adoping the 1972 Edition of the Suggested Plumbing Code recommended by the Texas Municipal i tr duced and read. City Manager Ezell discussed the highway� program priority with ; $ the City Council to see what to recommend to the highway planning � ' commission. The Council was in agreement to recommend Highway � f � 121A as the No . 1 priority, Hwy 360 as No . 2 and Highway 114 as 1 � No. 3. ' ; � :� The City Council discussed having Open House in the near future j � for the newly remodeled city council chamber and the new location � for the Library.
