GITY OF GRAPEVINE �
On the 18th day of September, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. , the City
Council of the City of Grapevine , Texas met in a call
meeting with the following members present:

' Willis Pirkle Mayor
G. S. Benedict )
R. T. Eidson )
Doil Dalton ) Councilmen
Lee Thompson )
' Councilman Harwell was absent.
Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order and Messrs. Ellis
and Davis of the St . Louis & Southwestern Railroad were
introduced.
Mr. Ellis and Mr. Davis explained the reasons the Railroad
is requesting a permit from the Railroad Commission to close c
the local depot and asked for the City' s endorsement on their ;
plan, which would remove local offices to Carrollton with all j
business transactions being done by telephone and by mail.
City Attorney Bob Scofield is to write the General Council of
the Railroad and request a change in the terminology of the
name of the proposed consolidation of the area depots to in-
� clude the name of Grapevine, after which the Council is to �
take action on either approving or disapproving the request. �
Meeting adjourned.
