Benedict ) � � � Planning & Zoning Commission � Howard Parsley � Jerry Jordan �; Ted Ware ' � Phil Parker �' C I_ The purpose of the joint meeting was for a Public Hearing on � Rezone Application 69-22. � � r f Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order and after Councilman � r Dalton gave the invocation, turned the meeting over to Chairman � Harlen Joyce for the hearing. Rezone Application 69-22 was � considered. Jess Stockstill requested "J & K" Industrial �. Zoning on his 90.178 acres in the Fay Survey. Persons present � were given an opportunity to be heard. Chairman Harlen Joyce declared the public hearing closed and announced that the � Flanning and Zoning Commissinn will give their recommendation � to the City Council. � � x The City Council continued to meet for the regular meeting of August 5, 1969 with the following members present: �; Willis Pirkle Mayor � � °r r G. Benedict ) ' A1 Harwell ) �` Tommy Eidson ) Councilmen �; Lee Thompson ) � �i/ Ua/�ar� � The minutes of the previous meeting of July 15 were read and approved. �, Doug Stanley, who requested to be placed on the Council lAgenda � � in reference to an Inoperative Vehicle ticket did not appear. €: � � . J. L. Bryce, Glen Remmer and Roy Lee Pearson, all licensed � plumbers were present in reference to plumbers doing work in � the City without being licensed by the State. They were � assured that the inspection department is being reorganized to effect full enforcement of the City' s plumbing code. �, � , �: Annexation Ordinance 69-27 annexing 3.269 acr�s in the Easter � �' i � � Survey and belonging to Mel Hobratsch was read on second and final ' reading. Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to pass said ordinance on second and final reading. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Harwell. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: '�i % Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Harwell, Eidson, Dalton & Thompson. '', Noes: None i i � ORDINANCE 69-27 � AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: PROVIDING THAT THE AREA DESCRIBED BEIAW, SHALL BECOME A PART OF THE SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND THE INHABITANTS THERFAF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES I NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER AT�OPTED: FURTHER � PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED� AND CQN TAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. Bids on the custody of City funds for the period October l, 1969 thru September 30, 1971 were opened and read. Bids were reviewed � from the American Bank of Commerce and the First National Bank, both of Grapevine. Mayor Pirkle informed persons present that �, the bids will be studied and evaluated and that the Council will � name the successful bidder at the next regular meeting of August � 19, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. Said bids are on file in the City records. � The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended to approve the � zoning change request of Jess Stockstill on Application 69-22. � No action was taken pending further information regarding the � status of Mr. Stockstill' s shooting range if rezoned. � Councilman Eidson made a MOTION for the City toc�cor�tr.act for a 12" water line to run from Main and Dallas Road, South on Main to connect to the 6" line on Vine Street. Motion seconded by � Councilman Benedict. Motion prevailed by the following vote: e � Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Eidson, Harwell, Dalton and Benedict. Noes: None t Bids on a new garbage truck were reviewed. Bids received are as � follows: 5 Davis Equipment Co. - $ 10,695.69 � Pack-More $ 10,807.24 � Hyde Pack - $ 11,221.00 � Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to accept the low bid of the Heil ' Company. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Eidson. Motion PREVAILED � by the following vote: � � iAyes: Councilmen Dalton, Harwell, Eidson, Benedict & Thompson. � i Noes: None i Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to authorize the refunding of a guaranty deposit to Mrs. C. B. Strain. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Thompson. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes : Councilmen Thompson, Eidson, Dalton, Benedict & Harwell. Noes: None �. 8 9 � � The Annexation petition of Thomas C. McBride was reviewed. Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to approve the petition and to pass Annexation Ordinance 69-28 annexing Mr. McBride's 260 acres into the City. Motion SECONDED by Councilman � Harwell. Motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Dalton, Eidson, Thomspon & Harwell.
