The City Council of ' the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular meeting at the City � � Hall with the following members present: I � ' Willis Pirkle Mayor iAl Harwell ) Tommy Eidson ) Councilmen � Doil Dalton ) Lee Thompson ) j Mayor Pirkle called the meeting to order and Councilman Harwell j gave the invocation. i The minutes of the previous meeting of July l, 1969 were read � and approved. i � 144 Clarence Herndon and Chester Breaux were spokesmen for 11 citizens � present regarding excessive dust being emitted from the Texas � Bitulithic Asphalt Plant located West across Highway 114. Mr. Breaux presented a plasti%up containing about 7 ounces of dust collected from a 4'x6' picnic table at his residence north of the asphalt plant. The group were assured that the City will � see to it that the undesirable condition is resolved. I � � � 200 Mr. Joe Kennedy was present and presented the Council with a � petition to Lone Star Gas Company requesting gas service in the � Shorecrest addition. Said petition is on file in the City records. � 235 Annexation Ordinance 69-24, annexing land in the Hood, Suggs, � and Payne Surveys was read on second and final reading. Council- man Dalton made a MOTION to pass said ordinance on second and final reading. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Eidson. AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY � i ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: PROVIDING THAT THE AREA DESCRIBED BEIAW� SHALL BEQOME A PART OF THE SAID CITY AND THAT ! THE OWNERS AND THE INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE � ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER �iDOPTED: FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED� AND CONTAINING A SAVINGS CL,AUSE. � 18 5� 289 Ordinance 69-25, amending the zoning of land owned by Dorothy .. Blank was read on second and final reading. -Councilman Eid,spn made a MOTION to pass said Ordinance on second and f�nal� se�ad- ing. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Thompson. Motion PREVAILED by the follo�ving vote: Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Eidson, Thompson & Harwell. Noes: None ORDINANCE 69-25 AN .ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE� TEXAS, SO AS TO C�IANGE THE ZONING DISTRICTS OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OF DORTHY BLANK FROM "A" � RESIDENTIAL TO "F" LOCAL RETAIL AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE� 290 Ordinance 69-26 amending the zoning of a tract of land owned by Thomas French & William Wilkerson was read on second and , final reading. Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to pass said Ordinance 69-26 on szcond and final reading. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Thompson. Motion PREVAILED by the following � vote: � � � F C t Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Dalton, Eidson & Harwell. � Noes: None � � ORDINANCE 69=26 � � AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE � AND THE 7AN I NG ME1P OF THE C I TY O F GRAPEV I NE, � � TEXAS, SO AS TO CHANGE THE ZONING DISTRICTS �' OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THOMAS FRENCH AND WM. � WILKERSON TO "SPECIFIC USE 7ANING DISTRICT:" � AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. € � 294 The water supply system for Canterbury Village was discussed. ` City Manager Floy Ezell is to investigate the possibility of the City acquiring the system in order to provide the citizens # in that area with sufficient water. � � r; 392 The petition of Mel Hobratsch, requesting annexation of his � 3.269 ac�es in the Easter Survey, Abstract 474, was reviewed. � Councilman Eidson made a MOTION to approve the petition and t to pass Ordinance 69-27 on first reading annexing said land ` into the City. Motion SECONDED by Councilmen Thompson. I City Manager Floy Ezell is to request representatives of the St. Louis & Southwestern Railroad to come out and explain more about their request to close the Grapevine Depot. Proposed Resolution R69-19, opposing the Tax exempt status of Municipal Bonds was introduced and read. Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to pass said resolution. Motion SECONDED by Councilman Thompson. Motion PREVAILE�D by the following vote: � Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Thompson, Harwell and Eidson. Noes: None Meeting adjourned.
