WHEREAS, certain regulations of the State of Texas and
of the federal goverment prescribe methods to be used in the dis-
position of solid waste and other refute and) therefore, there presently
exists a public necessity for municipalities to conform with such
regulations and restrictions; and,
WHEREAS, the disposition of solid waste and other refuse
in open areas, burning dumpgrounds, improperly coveted pits, and by
similar methods, creates a clear and present danger in the form of
air and water pollution and is a hazard to the health and general
welfare of the citizens oil Tarrant County, Texas, and of the general
area; and,
WHEREAS, properly operated methods of waste disposal are
deemed to be necessary in meeting the regulations imposed by the
State and Federal governtaents; and,
WHEREAS, grants-ih-aid are available to the governing body
of Tarrant County through the Federal Solid Waste Agency and, such a
grant will fund the necessary study of the problems that are becoming
evident thrdtighoUt Tarrant County.
NOW, TRIMAVORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF Grapevine
TEXAS)
1.
THAT the Tarrant County Commissioner's Court should employ
and to conduct a detailed study directed toward solutions to the im-
mediate county wide solid waste disposal problems.

THAT the City of Grapevine is only endorsing a
right to consider any and all recommendations that may result from
said study, and that financial participation by this City is neither
sought nor necessary to complete such a study.
