HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1974-029 d:� ORDINA NCE NO. 7�+-29 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANGE NO, 73-38, SAME BEING "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING °� � OCTOBER l, 1973, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER �`� 30, 1974; LEVYING TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1973 TO BE ASSESSED ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES AND INTEREST FOR DELINQUENT TAXES, AND PROVIDING FOR THE INTRA AND INTER DEPARTMENT AND FUND TRANSFERS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE INVESTMENT OF IDLE FUNDS, " BY AMENDING THE 1973-74 CITY OF GRAPEVINE BUDGET BY INCREASING THE SALARY SCALE OF CERTAIN SPECIFIED EMPLOYEES, � NAMELY: CITY SECRETARY, PARK DIRECTOR, STREET "'� DIRECTOR, COURT CLERK, DISPATCHER AND ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, due to the rising cost of living and an inflationary spiral since the City budget was adopted for the fiscal year of 1973-1974 on September 18, 1973, it becomes imperative to amend the budget to increase the salaries of certain employees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TE�AS: �a� Section 1. That Ordinance No. 73-38 is hereby amended by amending the 1973-1974 City Budget to reflect the following salary increases and adjustments; a. City Secretary to $875. 00 monthly b. Park Director to $1,050. 00 monthly c. Street Director to $925. 00 monthly d. Court Clerk $20. 00 per month for Night Clerk e, Dispatchers to $566. 00 monthly f. Animal Control Officer to$550. 00 monthly L � Section 2. That the City Budget is further amended to authorize the following premiums to the following employees; Dispatchers 11:00 o'clock p, m, to 7:00 o'clock a, m, shift $15. 00 per month premium �"� Dispatcher 3:00 o'clock p, m, to 11:00 o'clock p, m, shift � $7, 50 per month premium � Section 3. That the salaries set out in Sections 1 and 2 above shall become effective on August 15, 1974, Section 4, The fact that the City of Grapevine's budget is inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City creates an emergency for the immediate preservation of the public business, property, health, safety and general weflare of the public which requires that this ordinance shall become effective from and after the date of its passage, as provided by the Charter of the City and it is accordingly so ordained.
