AN ORDINANCE AI�NDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 5,
SECTION 6 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEX9S, ESTABLISHING GARBAGE RATES;
AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE� AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:

THAT Title 7, Chapter 5, Section 6 is hereby amended to read
as follows:
7-5-6; RATES: Any houses, buildings or premises used for
residential purposes, that are connected to the City' s Water
System and pay a minimum monthly charge for water service
shall have their garbage, trash and refuse removed at a
monthly charge where such collection and remova�l is not
required in excess of twice each week.

The collecting and removing of garb�ge, refuse and trash
from houses, buildings and premises used for commercial

and business purposes shall be determined by the number
of times each week that collection and removal of garbage,
refuse and trash is required, plus the amount of garbage,

described services will be determined by the City.

or other buildings and premises used for religious worship

Collecting and removing garbage and trash from buildings
and premises used for lodges and fraternal organizati:c�ns
will not be charged where such collection and removal is
not required in excess of once each week.
The minimum service to be rendered shall be once each
week and the maximum six (6) times each week. Should
any place of business not be specifically designated by
name, such error or omission will not relieve the owner,
occupant, tenant or lessee of the binding effect of this
Chapter, but the same charge shall be made as that entered
against a business of a like or similar nature.

II.
Should any part, section , paragraph, sentence, clause or
phrase contained in this ordinance be held to be unconstitu-
tional, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
� remaining portion of the ordinance, but in all respect shall
} remain in full force and effect.
III.
The fact that the present ordinances of the City of Grapevine,
Texas , are inadequate to properly safeguard, the health, safety,
morals, peace, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the
City of Grapevine, Texas, creates an emergency for the immediate
preservation of public business, property, health, safety and
general welfare of the public which requires that this ordinar�ce
shall become effective from and after the date of its passage
and it is accordingly so ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, on this the 15th day of May , 1973.
