AN ORDINANCE CL4SING, ABANDONING AND VACATING
A PORTZC?N QF AN UNNAMEI7 ALLEY IN THE CITY OF
GRA.PEVTNE, TEXAS, AS HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the owners of property abutting a certai,n
unriamed a,11ey in the City of Grapevine, Texas, have requested
�� the right-of-way and/or easement as hereinafter describ�d, be
F closed, abandoned and vac�ted; and
�,�, 'WHEREAS, the right-of-way andJor easement of said
alley as hereinafter descxibed is not naw needed for public
use and will not be needed in the future for a public use; and
WHEREAS, the closing, abandoning and vaca�ing the
right..o.f-way andlor easement of said a21ey will xe2ieve the
City of Grapevine, Te�cas, from the cost and expense �af rnain-
taining said property;
NOW� THEREFQRE� BE IT �RDAINED BY THE CITY CdUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRA.PEVINE, TEXA.S:
SECTION 1 . That the right-of-way and/ar easernent

public use, and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and va�ated
'��-� insofar as all pubiic right, title and intexest in and to said
described portion of said right-af-way and/or easement is con-
cexned.
SECTI�N 2. That the Mayor be, and is t�ereby author-
ized to execute a Quit-Claim Deed to cvnvey the hereinafter
deseribed property to A.E. Smith, firustee, the reputed owner
of the property abutting �aid right-of-way a,nd/or easement .
SECTION 3. That the terms and provisions of this
ordinance shall be deemed to be severable and that z.f the validity
of any section, subsection, word, seratence or phrase shall be
held to be invalid, it shall not affect the zemainiz�g part of
this ordinance.
SECTION 4. Th� fact tk�at said right-c�f-way and/ar
easement is na ianger needed by the public for _public usage
or �raveling and would cxeate a hardship or burden upan the
City of Grapevine to keep open and maintain such alley, cret+es
;� , an urgency and an emergency for the a.mmediate preservation of
� �he public health, safety and general, welfare which requires
that this ordinance shall. take effect immeda.ately from and afte�'
� `" its passage and it is accordingly so ardained.
