THE STATE. CF TEXAS 4 COUNTY OF TARRANT § CITY CF GRAPEVINE § The City Council of the City of Grapevine , Texas, convened in Regular session at the regular place thereof, the City Hall, within said City, on the 16th day of November, 1965, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. , with the following members present, to-wit: L. W. Parker , Mayor Pro-tem Guy S. Benedict , Alderman Herbert E. Huber Alderman C. W. Vandeventer ,, Alderman Willis Pirkle 1, Alderman and the following member absent, to-wit: Ira E. Woods,Mayor constituting a quorum; when, among other proceedings had, were the following: Alderman Herbert E. Huber introduced a Resolution and made a motion that the same be adopted. The resolution was read in full; Alderman Guy S. Benedict seconded the motion for adoption. The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the Resolution, prevailed by unanimous vote of those present. The Mayor Pro-tem thereupon announced that t!)e resolution had been duly and Lawfully Adopted. The resolution thus adopted reads and is as follows: 0.,00 RESOLUTION AND ORDER CANVASSING RETURNS AM) DECLARING RESULTS OF SPECIAL HOME RULE CHARTER ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, ON NOVEMBER 16th, 1965, ON THE QUESTION OF ADOPTION OF CHARTER FRAMED BY CHARTER COMMISSION AS HOME RULE CHARTER OF SAID CITY; AND CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Grapevine , Texas, on the 16th day of November, A. D. 1965, an election at which was submitted to the duly qualified resident electors of said City, for their action . thereupon, the following proposition: PROPOSITION SHALL THE CHARTER FRAMED BY THE CHARTER COMMISSION BE APPROVED AND ADOPTED AS THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS 7 and, WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 171 votes, of which number there were cast: "Yes" 144 votes "No" 27 votes Majority for "Yes" 117 votes ,., as shown in the official election returns heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of said City, and filed with the City Secretary; and, WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted at said election, and said election was duly called and held, in strict conformity with the Laws of the State of Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES )LVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COU CIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1; That the election described in the preamble to this resolution and order was duly called and notice thereof given in accordance with Law; that said election was held in the manner required by Law; that only duly qualified resident electors of the City of Grapevine voted at said election; that due returns of said election have been made by the proper officers; that said election has resulted favorably to the proposition: SHALL THE CHARTER FRAMED BY THE CHARTER COMMISSION BE APPROVED AND ADOPTED AS THE HOME RULE C.I ARTER OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS?; and that a majority of the qualified voters of said City, voting at said election, have voted in favor of approving and adopting the Charter framed by the Charter Commission as the Home Rule Charter of said City of Grapevine, Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Grapevine , Texas, hereby Officially and Affirmatively Declaresthat said Charter has been duly, properly, and lawfully adopted, and is dor the Home Rule Charter of said City. Section 3: That the Mayor Pro-tem is hereby Authorized and Directed to Certify to the Secretary of State of the State of Texas an authenicated copy of such Charter, under the official seal of the City, showing the approval thereof by the qualified voters of said City; and the City Secretary is hereby Authorized and Directed to record said Charter at length upon the records of said City, in a separate book kept in his office for such purpose.
