RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE JUNIOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO OPERATE THE
CIVIC CENTER IN THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS.
WHEREAS: The purpose of this resolution is to promote the health and general
welfare of the youth of Grapevine , Texas, and certain other groups and organi-
zations, and to cultivate the development of good citizenship by provision of
adequate programs by the creation of the Grapevine Youth Center.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
1. That the Civic Center be formed into a Youth Center with their activities
taking precedence over all other functions except those functions by other
civic, public, or private organizations that have been properly scheduled.
2. That under all possible conditions the Youth Center be open only to youth
activities each Friday and Saturday evenings between the hours of 5:30 P.M and
12 Midnight, and any other time a youth activity is properly scheduled.
3. That all functions in the Youth Center of youth, civic, public, and private
organizations be under the direct control of the Board of Directors of the
Grapevine Junior Chamber of Commerce and they will be the responsible organi-
zation in scheduling these functions and this organization shall reserve the
right to cancel, restrict, and control any function or activity so that it will
be in the best interest of the community.
4. That there will be no alcholic beverages permitted inside the Center or as
part of any function or activity at any time.
5. That the controling organization be responsible for all clean up and
minor maintenance expense and that all other expense such as insurance and
utility service charges be the responsibility of the City of Grapevine.
6. That allppublic, private, civic, or youth organization scheduling any
function or activity be responsible for any damages incurred by them and that
there will be a fee charged for the purpose of janitorial services and that the
fee charged will be fixed by the controling organizatinn.
7. That the Board of Directors of the Grapevine Junior Chamber of Commerce,
as the controling organization, accepts the responsibility of the remodeling
and operation of the Youth Center in Best interest of community service and if
at any time this does not prove to be the case, the control and responsibility
will revert directly to the City Council.
8. This resolution to be effective until June 30, 1964, thereafter, a new
resolution will be submitted for approval for another year.
