Benedict ) � � Willis Pirkle ) � Doil Dalton ) Councilaen � Lee Thompson ) � k Councilman Huber was absent. � The following business was tra nsacted: � Invocation was given by Mayor Woods. � 1 Minutes of previous meeting of May 23 were read and after correc- � tions, approved. �. F 047 Mr.M�illins was present to discuss his request to operate a private � club at the old Briggs-Weaver Lodge location. Action was delayed � until disposition of the liqnor by the drink bill, whi�h is before the Texas Legislature. � 068 Mr. & Mrs. Jezry Perry who live in Shorecrest Acres were present �' to find out what the decisions w�ere concerning the building and zoning question in that area. � t 085 The rezoning request of N. B. Hight on Lot 10, Block 3, Daniel Addition, oamed by S. J. Moardy was considered. The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended the change. Proposed Ordinance 68-19 enacting the change was introduced and read in full. Councilman Pirkle made a MO'TION to approve the recommendation of the Planning b Zoning Connission and to pass proposed Ordinance 68-19 enacting the change. Councilman Thompson seconded the � MOTION. MOTION pzevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Pirkle, Dalton and Thompson. Noes: None 095 The Mayor declared public hearing open on the proposed annexation of additional territories as described as follows: Tract # 1 Beginning at the intersection of County Road #3062, and the Corps of Engineers property line Monnment A-8, Thence, Southwesterly along the Corps of Engineers property line to CoXps of Engineers Monuaent 49-1, Thence Southerly 848.83 feet to a corner, Thence Northly 1,289.09 feet for a corner in West line of Dove Road, Thence, Northly along West line of Dove Road to place of beginning. Wright. ; 280 Annexation Ordinance #68-14, annexing the land of Paul Wharton and Paul Yarbrough was read on second reading. Councilman Pirkle made ; a MOTION to pass said Ordinance on second and final reading. MO?ION ; seconded by Councilman Dalton. Councilman Dalton aade a MOTION to ( accept the low bid of Mesco Corporation in the amount of $8,114.00. Council�an Pirkle seconded the MOTION. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: I � Ayes : Councilmen Benedict „Pirkle, Dalton and Thompson. i Noes: None � 306 The petition for annexation of land in the Splaine b Thonpson Survey � owned by Mr. & Mrs. Wade Cummings was reviewed and proposed Annexa- � tion Ozdinance 68-13 was introduced and read in full. Councilman Benedict nade a MOTION to approve the petition for annexation and I pass proposed Ordinance 68�.13 on first reading annexing said land. M02IBtV seconded by Councilman Pirkle. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Pirkle, Dalton and Thompson. Noes: None , � I E 79 ; � , 320 Mr. & Mrs. Leon Buzgess were present to request appzoval for temporary placing of a mobile home on the rear of ttie lot at � 314 W. College. Approval was tentatively expressed with the � provision that it be subject to the approval of adjoining j neighbors. t The setting of a bid date for the construction of water works improvement was delayed.pending a possible change in the routing of the aater supply to the proposed W. R. Boyd Shopping Center. � 510 The Council approved the appointment of Robert Crews as a member of the Board of Equalization, subject to his appzoval. ' E 588 The application of John Rosamond, 725 Forest Street, to put an � additional mobile hoae on his lot was reviewed. The Council � approved the application providing Mr. Rosamond will have his lot re-platted into two lots in order that the zoning may be observed. 601 The need for an increase in City Employee salaries was discussea. E Councilman Dalton macle a MOTION to increase city employees salaries an aatount varying fron $15.00 to $SO.00 per month. � MOTION seconded by Councilman Pirkle.
