STATE OF TEXAS � COUNTY OF TARRANT � CITY OF GRAPEVINE � On the 2nd day of July, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. , the City Council met in regular meeting with the following members present : I� Ira Woods Mayor ,� D. E. Dalton ) H. E. Huber ) Willis Pirkle ) Councilmen �i G. S. Benedict ) ' Lee Thompson ) I � Floy Ezell City Manager � Jim Hancock City Secretary , Bob Scofield City Attorney i � j The invocatinn was given by Councilman Benedict. i � The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. i i � E � 025 City Manager Floy Ezell gave a report on the information he i had secured from the various manufacturers of garbage trucks. ( � 128 Charles Millican was present to request a permit to place a � third mobile home on his lot next to his car washing business. The request was denied. 1 9 058 On this date a public hearing was held for the purpose of giving interested persons an opportunity to be heard in connec- tion with Zoning Change Application 68-8 on which H. V. Tate requested "C & D" Multiple Dwelling District Zoning on his lot , on Peach Street described as the East portion of Lo't 14 (1.58 � acre) in the A, T. Leonard Survey. The Planning and Zoning � Commission recommended to approve the change. Councilman Benedict made a MOTION to recess the hearing until the 16th of July, 7:30 P.M. . Councilman Huber seconded the MOTION. � MOTION prevailed by the following vote: � iAyes : Councilmen Thompson, Dalton, Huber, Pirkle & Benedict. i Noes : None i ( 188 Councilman Huber made a MOTION to set the date for the meeting of the Tax Equalization Board for July 17, 1968 at 9:00 A.M. . � MOTION seconded by Councilman Pirkle. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: � Ayes : Councilmen Thompson, Benedict, Pirkle, Dalton and Huber. � Noes: None � ( I 210 Discussion was had on the meeting of the City Council with I representatives of the General Telephone in Irving. In answer to the Council 's request for participation in the Metro System and other improvements in telephone service, the phone company re resentatives stated it will be about six weeks before s cific P e P answers can be given and most likely it will be about two to three years before any improvement can be put into effect. . I 85 In the discussion it was brought out that in similar re- k quests for improved service in the past , the same two to � three year answer was received. It was finally decided � that in order to get the desired improved telephone service � in Grapevine ,#��� more drastic measures should be taken �. with the Telephone Company. The proposed annexation of the City of Southlake, which ' annexation appears to encroach on the territorial juris- �: diction of the City of Grapevine, was discussed. City � Attorney Bob Scofield is to contact the Southlake City �- Attorney for additional information on this matter. City representatives are to contacl,t the owners of the mobile home park being constructed on the old Crabtree place on Highway 121 and inform them that their land has been annexed and will be expected to comply with City re- � quirements . � � Meeting adjourned.
