HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-09-10 Joint Meeting y7 Reel 11, Side 1 � Start 000 STATE OF TEXAS � COUNTY OF TARRANT � CITY OF GRAPEVINE � On the lOth day of September, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. , the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met jointly with the Planning & Zoning Commission with the following members present: City Council Ira Woods Mayor Lee Thompson ) Doil Dalton ) Councilmen G. S. Benedict ) Planning & Zoning Commision Harlen Joyce Chairman Howard Parsley �: R. T. Eidson The purpose of the joint meeting was to have a public hearing for the Zone Change Applications 68-12, 6$-13 and 68-14. Mayor Woods called the meeting to order and gave the invocation. Application 68-12 was considered. Mr. W. N. Rider requested "C & D" Multiple Dwelling Zoning on his property as described. Interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard. Application 68-13 was considered. M. C. Dearing �requested "C & D" Multiple Dwelling Zoning on his property as described. � Interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard. �;' Applicati on 68-14 was considered. E. L. Lancaster, Carey � Lavender and Jim Hatcher requested "E Modified" for Mobile � Homes on their property as described. Interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard. Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission Harlen Joyce informed persons present that the Planning and Zoning Commission will have their recommendations on the applications at hand for the council meeting of September 17, 1968. S. Benedict ) Floy Ezell City Manager Jim Han cock City Secretary ` � � �> 9 � The minutes of the previous meeting of September 3, 1968 ware read and a roved. PP 149 Fire Chief J. C. Greener was present to ask if the Fire Dept. should burn the remains of a burned house on Dooley Street. The Fire Department had received the request. The Council decided that it would be too much danger to the neighboring homes and the Fire Department should not burn the house. Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to approve the recommendatian of City Manager Floy Ezell and Police Chief Hamp Scruggs to discontinue pr�sent accident insurance and subscribe to accident insurance for the Police Department through the Texas Police Association. MOTION seconded by Councilman Thompson� MOTION prevailed by the following vote: I�i � Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Dalton and Benedict. I Noes: None f 387 Discussion was given to the possibility of off duty police= i men doing security work for the banks in the City. No action was taken pending more information to be furnished at a i � future meeting. 440 Proposed Ordinance 68-28, establ�shing Dallas Road as a truck route was introduced and read in full. Councilman Benedict made a MOTION to pass said Ordinance 68-28 on first reading. i MOTION seconded by Councilman Thompson. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: IAyes: Councilmen Dalton, Thompson and Benedict. � Noes: None � ORDINANCE 68-28 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 9, CHAPTER 7, SECTION 4, SUB-SECTION (A) OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL TRUCK ROUTES. 455 Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to appoint Bill Powers as f Assistant Fire Marshall. MOTION seconded by Councilman � Benedict. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Dalton and Thompson. Noes: None ' 463 City Manager Floy Ezell introduced the request of Mrs. Jeff Yancey to change the name of Dellwood Drive to Yancey Drive. No action was taken. Councilman Benedict made a MOTION to authorize a street light for the corner of Surrey Lane and Holly Street. �OTION � seconded by Councilman Thompson.
