On the 1st day of October, 1968 at 7:30 P.M., the City Council
of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular meeting at the
City Hall with the following members present:
Ira Woods
G. S. Benedict )
Willis Pirkle )
H. E. Huber )
Doil Dalton )
Lee Thompson )
Floy Ezell
Jim Hancock
Mayor
Councilmen
City Manager
City Secretary
Mayor Woods called the meeting to order and gave the invocation.
The minutes of the previous meeting of September 24th were read
and approved.
34 Bid tabulations on Brewer Street improvements were reviewed and
a letter of recommendation from the City's Consulting Engineers,
Freese, Nichols and Endress was read. They recommended the
contract be awarded to the low bidder, Texas Bitulithic, in
the amount of $7,264.80. Other bids received were McHale
Construction Co. $75,309.80; and Ernest Lloyd $9,462.49.
Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to accept the low bid of Texas
Bitulithic. Councilman Pirkle seconded the MOTION. MOTION
prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Pirkle, Thompson, Dalton and Huber.
Noes: None
Said bids are on file in the City records.
52 Bob and Jim Nichols of Freese, Nichols and Endress, the City's
Consulting Engineers, were present and Bob Nichols explained
their proposed Engineering Contract for services in connection
with Municipal Improvements, including water works improvements,
sewage treatment plant improvements, sewerage collection system
improvements and other miscellaneous municipal improvements.
Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to approve and sign the said
contract. MOTION seconded by Councilman Dalton. MOTION pre-
vailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Huber, Thompson, Benedict & Pirkle.
Noes: None
A preliminary engineering report for pollution control facilities
for Northwest parts of the City was studied. No action was taken.
Meeting adjourned.
