Benedict ) � Lee Thompson ) Herbert Huber ) Councilmen Doil Dalton ) � Willis Pirkle ) ( Planning & Zoning Commission ; � Harlen Joyce � Howard Parsley � Tommy Eidson j Ted Ware € � The purpose of the meeting was for a public hearing on the w following zone c h ange applications: � � 68-21 - J. B. Tindle requested "J & K" Industrial Zoning on his 150 acres in the C. C. Hope Survey. 68-22 - C. F. Emery requested "J & K" Industrial Zoning � on his 11.3 acres in the Guest Survey and Lot lA and 1B j in the Russell Survey. 68-23 - Grapevine Development Co. , Inc. requested "C & D" Zoning on Lots 1 & 15, Block 10, Bellaire Addition. ( 68-24 - Grapevine Development Co. , Inc. requested "C & D" � Zoning on Lots 1 � 2, Block 2, Bellaire Addition. � Mayor Woods called the meeting to order and gave the invocation. I I � Interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard in connection with said zone change applications. Chairman of the Planning & Zonin g Commission, Harlen Joyce informed persons present that the Commission will make recommendations on the � application s to the City Council fa�r the next Council Meeting. � � IThe City Council continued to meet for the regular meeting of � December 17th with the following members present: � � Ira Woods Mayor I�I � Doil Dalton ) i Willis Pirkle ) Herbert Huber ) Councilmen � G. S. Benedict) Lee Thompson ) ! � I 1 ? 3 � , _ � 566 Mr. K. W. Pickering was present and petitioned the City to annex his 150 acres of land in the Wood and Whitman Survey into the City limits. Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to annex said land into the City by passing Annexation Ordinance 68-40. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: � K Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Thompson, Huber, Pirkle & Dalton. � Noes: None � G �;� ORDINANCE 68-40 � � AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY � ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: PROVIDING THAT THE AREA DESCRIBED BELAW, SHALL BECOME A PART OF THE SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND THE INHABITANTS THERFAF SHALL .BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS �? OF SAID CITY AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES � . NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED: FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMEND ING AND CORRECTING � �� ZHE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY HERETOFORE �' E�IDOPTED AS AMENDED� AND CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AND DECLARING AN ENIERGENCY; The petition of Ruby Livingston petitioning the City to annex her 183.25 acres of land in the Whitman and Woods Surveys in- � to the City limits was considered. Councilman Pirkle made a � MOTION to annex said land int o the City by passing Ordinance r 68-41. MOTION seconded by Councilman Dalton. MOTION seconded by Councilman $; Pirkle. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: � Ayes: Councilmen Huber, Thompson, Benedict, Pirkle & Dalton. � Noes: None �` � � 620 Mrs. Frank P. Howell ' s dedication of Dunn Street was considered. % Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to approve the dedication of � Dunn Street. MOTION seconded by Councilman Huber. MOTION pre- �: vailed by the following vote: � ; Ayes: Councilmen, Benedict, Pirkle, Dalton, Huber & Thompson. � Noes: None ;; � E �;� � � ��� i � �� 653 The request of Grapevine Memorial Hospital for a street light to be p�aced near the emergency entrance was considered. Council- man Huber made a MOTION to table the request for further study. MOTION seconded by Councilman Dalton. MOTION prevailed by the �'I following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benedict, Dalton, Pirkle, Thompson & Huber. Noes: None 670 The request of Continental Oil Company for a permit to run a pipe line from their facilities on Highway 121 to the Airport area I was considered. The City' s Consultzng Engineers approved the route � of the pipe line. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to approve said request. MOTION seconded by Councilman Dalton. MOTION prevailed � by the following vote: E � Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, , Pirkle, Thompson, Huber & Benedict. : ; Noes: None I C Bids on two police cars were reviewed. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to aceept the low bid of Huffines Motor Company for the ; two police cars. MOTION seconded by Councilman Huber. MOTION � prevailed by the following vote: s i Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Pirkle, Thompson, Benedict, & Huber. � � Noes: None � . � Bids on a pick-up for the Water Department were reviewed. Council- � man Dalton made a MOTION to accept the low bid of H�ffines Motor � � Company for the pick-up. MOTION seconded by Councilman Thompson. t MOTION prevailed by the following vote: � € ! (Chev) $1, 762.72 � Hudib�rg Chev. Co. 1,846.70 i � ! City Manager Floy Ezell gave the Council a report on his attend- � ance of the Public Hearing in connection with the application of { H. C. Martin to release effluent from his proposed sewage treat- i ment plant to the drainage area to the South in the Thompson � Survey. The Hearing was re-set for a later date to give time �::_ �- i for all interested parties to pool resources for a control plant � that could handle all the area in the Bear Creek drainage area. ; i i i 1 � � � � � € � � Councilman Dalton made a MOTION to approve the Building Permit of Joe Irving to move a house to Lot 9, Block 5, Placid Peninsula. MOTION seconded by Councilman Benedict. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: �' � Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Benedict, Huber, Pirkle & Dalton. Noes: None The minutes of the meetings of November 26th, December 3rd and December lOth were read and approved. ` Meeting adjourned.
