HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-01-28 Special Meeting � ;� � 33 : ���� �" � STATE OF TEXAS � COUNTY OF TARRANT � CITY OF GRAPEVINE � On the 28th day of January, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. , the City � Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in a call meeting with the following members present: Dr. I ra Wood.s Mayor G. S. Benedict ) Willis Pirkle ) Doil Dalton ) Councilmen � Lee Thompson ) Herbert Huber ) City Manager Floy Ezell read a letter from Police Chief Hamp Scruggs resigning from that position. The establishment of additional truck routes through Grapevine was discussed. No action was taken. The annexation of additional territories into the City Limits , was discussed. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to prepare an annexation ordinance and to start annexation proceedings � on the balance of land in the Wood Survey, Abstract 688 that is not now in the City and all land East of Doss Knight Road, West of F.M. 157, South of 'the present City limits and North of 50 feet South of the cen ter line of' Bear Creek. MOTION seconded by Councilman Benedict. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Huber, Dalton, Thompson, Benedict & Pirkle. Noes: None Councilman Benedict made a MOTION for the City to con tact Lewis Nichols, Attorney, regarding council in connection with telephone company improvements. MOTION seconded by Council- man Pirkle. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Dalton, Huber, Benedict, Thompson & Pirkle. Noes: None An applicati on, submitted by Willard Young, to move in two small buildings on his lot a� 919 Terrell Street was considered. Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to decline the application. MOTION seconded by Councilman Benedict. MOTION prevailed by the following vote: ` � . � � Ayes: Councilmen Thompson, Pirkle, Benedict, Huber & Dalton. Noes: None � � #! The request of Mrs. R� . A. Cross at 618 E. Wall Street to � fence the portion of her lot rearing on Estill Street was � � considered. It was determined that since the lot runs through from one street to another, that the fence will have to be set back in line with the buil ding line on the street on which � the lot is rearing on. � � � �"``; �: _ �' . � � C i }� Councilman Pirkle made a MOTION to name the street in the Housing Authority Site "A�' Starr Place and the street in Site "B" Texas Street.
