Members present were Mayor Woods, and Cour�cil- men Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Dalton and Foust. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mayor Woods reported to the Council that he received a letter from State Highway District Engineer R. W. Crook, that the Highway Depar�tment will begin construction of a frontage road connecti�g West Wall Street to West College as soon as t:ney are notified that it is definate that West College is to be extended to Highway 11l�.. �VIrs. Robbie Hilliard was present to as,�ertain if the City Code could be interpreted to allow her to join two existing houses to- gether on her property located at corner of West Northwest Highway and Scribr�er Street. The Council Authorized her to go ahead with her plar�. 086 Bitl Reed of Reed and Son Realty was present to get informatiorl from the Council as to what extent the City w1. 11 go toward running water and sewer to a proposed Industry employirig L{.6 people. The Council : agreed to run 6" water to the East s3.de of Highway 1I1� and the de- veloper would be responsible for the line from there to his property and wi11 be refunded or� the pro-rata basis. The Council could see no way the City Could extend sewer to this property at this time. 180 Joe Box, representirig the Chamber of Commerce, was present to report or1 his trip �o Austin in connection with the City�s and School districtts interest in the Airport Authority Bill. MOTION : by Courlcilman Pirkle, seconded by Councilman Da.lton to pay up to �250.00 of the Consulting fec that might be charged by Austin Attorneys in connection with ground work perforpped by them or� the .�irport �,uthority Bi11 . Motion carried by a yes vote by Council- men Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Da.ltor.� and Foust. There were no t�oes. 3b7 On this date a public hearing was held by the Plannir�g and Zoning Board for the Corlsideration of Application fo� Amer�dment to the Zoning Map and Ordinar�ce (Applicatiot� No. 67-�/ ) , to change a 21.05 �r• acre tract of land relonging to L.B. Bowen from "A" Residential District to "J"-'tK'� It�dustrial District. The Plar�r�ing and Zoning Board recommer�ded that the Council Amend the Ordir�ance as requested. ' DJIOTION by Councilman Foust, seconded by Councilman Benedict to accept the Plar�rling and Zonir�g Board recommendation a�d adopt Ordirtance 67-2 enacti�lg the change. Motion carried by a yes vote by Council- mer� Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Dal�on and Foust. There were no noes. ORDIT�TANCE 67-2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, SO AS TO CHANGE THE ZONING DISTRICTS OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OF L. B. BOWEN, FP.OM '�A't DWELLING TO t�J�t_rrK" INDUSTRIAL CLASS- ' IFICA TION AND DECLARING AN EMERGLNCY. �g MOTION by Courlcilman Foust, seconded by Councilman Pirkle to permit Alton Corbin to rent Lot 65 in his trailer Park since the lot was near completion before the City annexed his property. Motiort carried by a yes vote by Councilmeri Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Dalton and Foust. Motion carried by a y�es vote by Councilmet� Ber�edict, Pirkle , Huber, Dalton ar�d Foust. There were no r�oe s. 496 Discussion was held on the possibility of widening Church Street. City Mat�ager Floy E2e11 is to talk with the City�s Engineers ot1 estimated costs of this project. 55Z� �OTION by Councilman Benedict, seconded by Councilnan Huber to appoint Chief of Police Jack Belcher to the office of Civil Defense Coordinator. Motion Carried by a yes vote by Councilmen Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Dalton and Foust. There were no noes. 569 Proposed Ordinance 67-3 was read. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 9, CHAPTER 1 OF THE ' CITY CODE OF THL CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS SO AS TO PROVI DE THAT VEHI�LES LOADED WITH LOOSE MATERIAL SHALL HAVE A TARPALUIN OVER SUCH LOOSE MI�TERIAL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. MOTION by Cour�cilman Benedict, seconded by Councilman Pirkle to adapt Ordinance 67-3. I��otion carried by a yes vote by Councilmen Ber�edict, Pirkle, Huber, Da,lton ar�d Foust. There were no noes.
