The City Council met irt regular sessiQn on the above date tt�flsz
present were Mayar Woods , Al.dermen Parker , Vandever�ter, Huber,
Pirkle and Benedict,
The mfnutes of the previous meeting was raad and approved as read.
The 2onirtg Reguest of �^r. Fred Hoyt on his lot on the corner af
Minters Chape2 Raad and �ast Dallas Road was read to the council .
The Planr�i ng and Zoni ng Boa rd hel d a publ i c heari ng on Decem��r 21 , 1�65
and a.pproved the request of rezoning the 3at from "A" �+,vel2ing
Di �trict to 'tH" Central Business District and recommenda� to chanqe
the zoni nct.
After discussfon art the recommer�datzonof the Plannirtq and Zaninc�
Baard , Alderman Pirkle made a motion, which was seconded by Aiderman
Benedict to approve the rezoning of Mr. Hoyt �s property from "A"
Durel. ling Di strict to "Fr' Loca2 Retai 2 Di strict. The same zaning
as Mr. Hoyt'sother lat. Motion car�ied by Alderman Benedict, Pir�Cle ,
Huber, Uanc3eventer and Park�r voting yes with r�o noes.
Insurar�ce po3.ices an the �ity Ha31 buildir�4� Civic Center Buildin9 ,
and the Fire & Police Statian was reviewed by the council. Additional f;
informatir�n was to be obtained before any actic�n on the ].C1SUF�I2Ce
po2icies wouid be taken.
Dsscussion was given an selling the City Iat ort Berry Street, Lot ?�,
Block 2 t�f the Hi lltop Addition. The lot size is 70 � x 50 � and the
City wQU2d take �2,040.Ofl far the 2ot, if it is l�qal far the City
to sell this lot. The City Attarn�y was tc� be consul.ted on th3s.

The Firemen Ru2es E� Regulations that had been written by the e
Firemen and submitted to the council far their approval was �
discussed ar�d a mation by A2derman Pirk2e , seconded by Alderman;
Vandeventer to change Sectic�n 1 . of Article II . , ta read as follows:
Sect3on 1 . Tha Officers of this �ep�rtment shall consist of a Chief,
who shal2 be appainted by the City Cc�unci2 , an Assistant Chief, a
Secr�tary-Treasurer, An Ass �t. Secr�tary-Treasurer, two Captains,
twa Lis�ztenant�, one Drill Master, one Seraeant at Arms and ona
Chap2in who shall be elected by secret ba2lot by the Depa:^tment .
