Councilman Huber being abs�nt. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approv2d as read. any The Mayor asked ifAperson pres�nt had something to say about the proposed Annexation Ordinance of Fina, Conoco and the railroads , Box Propei'�y and one other small 2 acr� tract of land next Hwy 11I� and south of the Box property. PJ`r. R. B. Lee , �.merican Petrofina Co. , P.G. Box 2159 , Dallas 21 , Texas, spoke in protest of the annexation Ordinance and advised the City that his company had voluntarily annexed into SouthLake on February I , 1966. P.2r. Houston B. �outhern, .Attorney for �ontinental Cil Co. , Ponca City , Oklahoma spoke in protest of the annexation Qrdinance and advfsed also that his company had voluntarily annexed into Southlake on February 1 , 1966 by Southlake Ordinance No. 1?9. ^�1?r. A. ti'��. Coulter, Land and Tax A�Tent , St. Louis Southwest�rn Railway Lines ,spoke in protest of the annexation alona and in front of the rina and �onoco Plant and advised tl�t if the two companies came into the city they would not protest the annexation but if the two companies did not come into the city they would also protest comina into the city. The zoning board recommend�d that the re2oning request of D.�r. T�m Stephens on part of 4A in the T. P��ahan Survey from "A'� Residenti�l to "C-�'� Dwelling be granted . They did not make a recommendatiqn on ��Zr. Dickerson �s lot unti l further information could be furnished . A motion by Councilman Parker , seconded by Councilman Vandeventer to accept the Zoninc Boards recommendation and to rezone r��r. Tom St2phens tract of land same being a lot out of part of lot 4A in the T. I��`ahan Survey from "A" to '�C-D" dwelling. nJ!otion carried by ' Councilmen Benedict, Pirkle , Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noe s. Bids were received on the repainting and repairing of the 100,000 oallon ground storage tank and are as follows : � Penner 8� Cheney Co. , Fort Worth Total price �2, 375.00 Gorbett B_�os. , Fort 'North " " 2,1�78.00 W. �. Rant, Inc. , Dallas, Texas 3,99�.�0 �Vater Tank Service Co. , Dallas, Texas 3,258.00 A motion by Councilman Pirkle , seconded by Councilman Parker to defer the letting of the bid on the repair and repainting of the tank until Freeze , Nichols and Endress, Consulting Engineers would have had time to review the bids and make a recommendation to the Council on the bids. Motion carried by Councilmen Parker , Pirkla, Vandeventer and Benedict voting yes with no noes. D:4ayor ��loods gave to the council the information on the outcome of the visit with Mr. Henry Graeser, water superintendent for the City of Dallas. r�;ir. Graeserpromised to draft a contract a�reement between the City of Grapevine and the City of Dallas, for Dallas to sell to the City of Grapevine raw water from Lake Grapev�ne at approximately 7� per thousand if the city of Gr�evine would reeog�i2e the safe yield of water for Lake Grapevine . !tRr. Dunaway of Southwester n States Telephone Co. presented the plans the telephone company had for moving their office from Grapevine on or about �"arch 25, 1966, to Irvirtg, Texas. The reason f or this was to be able to give better service in a nuch shor'ter time . The service men . would still remain in Grapevine but the two ladies, office workers , would be moved to Irving . Their wi11 be no change in reporting troubles, etc. to the telephone Co. T!�r. Bill P.eed ask the City when they pian to annex the Reed A.ddition and the area around them so he would be able to tell the people so they may have a chance to voluntarily annex into the City if they so desired. A motion by Councilman Pirkle , seconded by councilman Benedict to ' begir� proceeding on drawing up the legal descri�tions of the property so that � public hearing may be advertized in the paper and held as soon as practiCal . This would include Reed Addition, Placid Peninsula , Grapevne Lake �states and Lake Forest addition and adjac2nt area. Motion carried by Councilmen Benedict, Parker, Pirkle and Vandeventer voting yes with no noes. Taxts for this additian would ha ve to b2 worked out en some basis. These additions wnilld receive Fire Protection , Police Protection and Sanitation service after annexations would have been comDleted . The City Council approved the installation and improvemtnt of thE City two-way radio system for the Police department by instaZling three rnonitors so as to be able to receive calls from Texas Highway Depat'tment of Fublic 5afety, Dallas County Sheriff Department, Irvin4 Police Department, Lewisv311e Police Department, �uless Police Department and Tarrant County Sheriff Department and some others.
