HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2011-022 RESOLUTION NO. 2011-22 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGERS' DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE A NEW FIRE BOAT THROUGH AN ESTABLISHED COOPERARATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of Texas and as such is empowered by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 84 to purchase Law Enforcement Marine Craft, therefore, satisfying any state law requiring local governments to seek competitive bids for the purchase of those items; and WHEREAS, the GSA program for all states is a qualified purchasing program; and WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas has access and is entitled by GSA to use such contracts therefore meeting all State of Texas bidding requirements; and WHEREAS, the GSA has an established contract #GS-07F-0012J with Mercury Marine, Division of Brunswick for outboard fire boat. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase of a Fire Boat from SeaArk Marine, Quote #21915, at a cost of$170,577.00. Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the purchase of said fire boat. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 5th day of April, 2011.
