The mfautes of Lhe prsvious mseting was read and approved as re�td. Mr. Bobby Jim �iTew�Cirk was interviewed by the council for the posiLion of Falice patrolmar�. Mr. Overal2 ar�e o�' the develflper of Lc�s Robles Estates talked with the council about water being bro�t to his place on 157. Mr. Tip Johnsor� suggested that a study be made on the arater treaLment to see if the taste of the water couZd be improved. Mr. G. W. Smith ask that something ��aa;�at be done about the sewer l.ine behi�,d Smithxs Cs�fe along E. NW Hwy« The 2ine has been giving troub�e and needs something dane about it. Mr. G. W. Smith read a list of names he had on a petitian asking thltt th� Truck Qrdinanc� nat be put ir�to effect as it �cu2d hurt his busdness along other service stations and cafes along the NW Hwy. Mr. Smith was to get some ather names or� the petition and fi2e it with the City Secxetary.far the counci2 consideration. A moit�on by Alderman Pirk2e, second�d by Alderman Parker to approve the preliminary plat af Mr. Bill Carlson, Canterbury Village alcrng North Dove Rc�ad, Motian carried by Alderm�en Parker, Vartdeventer, Huber, Pirkle and Benedict voting yes with na noes. A moLion by Alc3erman Parker, seconded by A2derma�t Pirkle tQ hfre Mr. Bobby �tewkirk to work in the police department as a patrolman. Motion carried by Aiderman Benedi+Ct, Pirkle, Huber, Vandeventer and Farker voting yes with no n4es. Starting salary af �325.{}0 per month plus a $10.00 per month uniform allowance and after 3 manths if his work is satisfactory he wi2i be raised ta �3�0.40 per month p3us a �10.00 per manth uniform allowance. A motian by Alderman Parker, secan�ed by Alderman Huber to approve the resubdivision of Lcata 1, 2, � West 2� � of lot 3, Black 1�6 in the Co23ege Heights Additipn. Df scussio� of the papulatian and a study was tc� be made to see if and wha�t the city has to do ta change the form of gavernment to Ho�t� Ru2e, Mr. Scofielc3 was ta be ask to be at the n;ext meeting and discuss Lh� legal side of writ�ing a Charter. Also the Mayar was to talk with the Texas Municipal League about 8he writing of a charter. Council ask that bids be taken for a truck to be used i� the Garbage department to replace the 19b2 Chevrolat truck. The same specifications was to be used as the type of truck to buy as ths i9bl Chevrolet that is now fn se rvice. College and Azalea Drive and also appr4ve the installation of a street 2ight at the intersaction af W. Wa21 street and Aza2ea.
