HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-07-20 Regular Meeting July 20, 1965 The City Council met in regular session on the above date those present were Mayor Woods, Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Vandeventer and Parker. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read. Mr. G. w. a5mith and several other citizens met with the coun�il to discuss the Truck Route Ordinance. Myor Woods called a special meeting for Tuesday evening at 7:30 P.M. on July 27, 1965 at the City Hall. Mr. Bill Reed presented a petition asking that his property be annexed into the City of Grapevine. A motion by Rlderman Pirkle, seconded by Alderman Vandeventer to accept Mr. Bill Reed �s petition and that his property be annexed into the city of Grapevine by Ordinance 65-8. Motion carried by Aldermen Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle and Benedict voting yes with no noes. Complete Ordinance on file in the City Secretary � office. i � � Mr. J. E. O�terall presented a petition for annexation of Los Robles Estates in the W. D. �hepard Survey. A motion by Alderman Benedict, seconded by Alderman Pirkle to accept the petition and annex into the City Los Robles Estates by Ordinance 6�-9. Motion carried by Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noes. Complete : Ordinance on file in the City Secretary office. �/ Mr. Overall discussed with the conncil the possibilities of not putting in Curb and Guttering at this time when he lays his streets. Mr. Scofield discussed with the council about a population count and the writfng of a Charter for the City if the Home Rule form of government is adopted. Council instructed the Police Chief to begin the enforcement of '. the Livestock Ordinance as the publication of the Ordinance had been made. Bids were received for a two-ton truck to be used in the Sanitation department and are as f ollows: Hudiburg Chevrolet 1Wo-ton truck as per City specification with the trade-in of the 1961 Chevrolet truck. �3,080.29 Ted Arendale Ford 1Wo-ton truck as per City specificatiQn with the trade-in of the 1961 Chevrolet truck. $2,600.57 A motion by Alderman Pirkle, seconded by Alderman Huber to purchase the Ford truck at a price of $2,600.57 for the Sanitation department. Motion carried by Alderman Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noes. A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Huber to adopt and pass Ordinance 65-2� requiring each applicant requssting re- zoning, re-platting , etc. , requiring a publication of a public hearing or etc. with be charged a fee of �15.00 per application. Motion carried by Aldermen Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle, and Benedict voting yes with no noes. Complete ordinance on file in the City Secretary �s office.
