HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-07-27 Special Meeting July 27 , 1965 The City Council met in a call sessior� on the above date those presents �:t.�ere Mayor Woods, Nldermen Benedict, Pirkle, Huber, Vandeventer and Parker. A petition by Mr. A. G. Simmons, W. Floyd Deacon, C. H. Oliver, Emel A. Zund, Jim Woods and Jim McCleliand asking for annexation into the City of Grapevine of approximately 69 acres more or less i n the T. Mahan Survey. A motion by Alderman Pirkle, seconded by Alderman Benedict to annex ' Mr. A. G. Simmons and others property out of the T, Mahan Survey into the City of Grapevine by Ordinance No. 65-10. �iotion carried by Aldermen Parker, Huber, V$nd�venter , Pirkle and Benedf:t voting ' yes with no noes. Complete �rdiance on file in the official Ordinance Books of the �ity of Grapevine . Discussion was given on a franchise for Mr. A. G. Simmons to oper�te his water system in the Manor Oaks Addition. A motion by Alderman Benedict seconded by Alderman Huber to sell the Asphalt Di stributor to Mr. J. E. Hulsey of Wolf City, Texas for a sum of �2,000.00. Motion carried by Aldermen Benedi�t, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noes. Mayor was to talk with the 'Srtate Highway Depart�ent �bout several thin gs pertainin g to the City. A motion by Alderman Huber, seconded by Alderman Pirkle to repEal Truck Route Ordinance No. 65-4. Motion carried by Aldermen Pa�ker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle , and Benedict vo�ing yes with no noes. A motion by Alderman Huber to adopt and pass Resolution R65- reducing the speed limit to 20 MPH along State Highway 121 and Main street from the intersection �f Highway 121 and Highway 157 along Ma�n street to f ts intersectimti with State Highway 114 Business route . Motion carried by Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noes. A motior� by Alderman Benedict, seconded hy Alderman Pirkle to hire Jack Hodges and Ed. Davis to work as firemens at a starting salary of �325.00 per month. These men to work under the super- vision of the council and City Secretary. Motinn carried by Aldermen Parker , Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle and Ber�edict voting yes wi th no noe s. No further business meeting adjourned . tary Magor ,
