HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-10-19 Regular Meeting October 19, 1965 The City C ouncil met in regular session on the above date those present were Mayor '�oods, Aldermen Parker , Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle and Benedict. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read. Mr. Dunaway of the General Telephone Co. visted withthe courlcil and discuss2d the extended area servfce to Dallas and Fort Worth wit h the counc i 1 . Council discussed talking with the property owners adjacent to our City Limits and see if any would voluntarily bring their property into our city. A motion by Ald�r�an Huber, secor�ded by Alderman Pirkle for the City to pay the differerlce in the cost of 4" water line ,that is to be put in alon Dawn Lane in the Sunsh3ne Harbor Industrial �rea, and put an �" water line in so as to work in with our water system. Motion carried by Aldermen Benedict , Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noes. City discussed ways and means for mobile homa owners to pay thier part of their city tax. The Zoning Board recommended to the council that the tract of land ,just west of the Fresbyterian church, �09 � x 512 � x 56l�t x 31l� t , belonging to Tom l�ench and Dr. Bf 11 �Ni lkinson be re2oned frmm '"A" to "F" Local Business �istrict . A motion by Alderman Parker , seconded by Alderman Vandeventer to defer action on the rezoning request of Tom French and Dr. Bill �lilkinson. Motion carried by Aldermen Parker, Vaqdeventer, Huber, Pirkle and Be�nedict voting ye,s with no noes. A petition for annexation of Mr. Fred E. Hoyt was presented to the council . A motion by Alderman Pirkle, secondad by Alderman Huber to accept the petitinn and annex �;�r. Hoyt �s tract of land, 181 � x 175� ,just west of his resident, als�ng Minters Chapel road and E. Dallas Road. Motion carried by Aldermen Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer and Parker voting yes with no noes.
