The City Council met in a call session at the Bank on tt�e above
date. Those present were Mayor Johnson, Aldermen Harwell , Pirkle,
Pa�'ker, and Woods. Alderman Deacon being absent.
Mr. Martin of the Martin Fou�lation presented to the council his
intentions of constructing a housing development and shopping
center 1'or th� senior citi2ens of our country. This co�ing under
Section 231 of the National Housing Act, as amended. This is to
be considered a non-pro�'tt organization. Also Mr. Martin asked
tgat a letter be written by the •City stating that the property
will be zoned as F.H.A. requires for residential or commerical.
The council advised Mr. Martin that this material and information
would be turned over to the City Attorney for his approval , and
a letter was to be written to Mr. Martin advising him that the
2oQing could be done to comply with F.H.A. request if approved by
the City Attorney.
No further business meeting ad,�ourned.
