HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-12-18 Regular Meeting � December 18, 196z The City Council met in regular session on the above date those present were Mayor Johnson, Aldermen Woods, Harwell , Pa�'ker, and Pirkle . Alderman Deacon beinq absent. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved as read. The final plat of the revision of Lot 7 in Block 6 of the �,ucas Addition was presented to the council for approval . A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Parker to approve the final plat as submitted. Motion carried. A motion b�� Alderman Pir'�le seconded by Alderman Parker to authorize , Texas Power and Light Co, to install a mercury vapor street light on a steel pole, same as ison Main street at present , on the east side of Main street between Wall street and Northwest Highway. Motion carried. Dual water connections was discussed but more study was to be done on this. The additions to the 1g62 Tax Roll was certified to the amount of .�1�88.69 by a motion by Alderman Parker, seconded by Alderman Woods. Motion carried. A motion by Alderman Pirkle, seconded by Alderman Harwell to ,qive Mr. N�cNutt permission to leave his parking blocks out on city propertyif the north side of the parking area is used for public parking with a 2 hour parking limit as other public parking along Main street, and if and when the city deems it necessary to use this area for part of texas street, Mr. Mcnutt will move his parking blocks back to his north property line . A�otion carried. A,4r. 8 Mrs H. L. Arnold, Mr. Dan Guest , and Mr. Jim Wright met with the ca uncil asking that some solution be worked out so that Interstate Foundry may continue to operate in Lot "A" , Block 1 of the Bellaire Addition. Mr Wright presented to the I�Rayor and CouQCil a petitionhe had that had been signed by 36 people r�questing a re-hearing in connection with the Zoning application filed herein by H & M Enterprises, Inc. , acting through H. L. Arnold, for a change of 2oning on Block 1, Lot "A�t, Bellaire addition to t he City of Grapevine, from "G" Local Business District to "Lf' First Manufacturing District. Council advised N!r. Arnold th�t some study would be given on this so as to work out some solution,�'or the �x continued operation of Interstate Fonndry, between Mr. Arnold and the property owners in the Bellaire Addition. The City would like to have the industry in the city but some corrections in the amoubt of noise and odor from the plant would have to be remedied to the satisfaction of the prope�ty owners in the Bellaire Addition. Mr. Arnold was asked about his reasons for not paying his city tax �s for the year 19bi. He was also advised that a tax suit would be filed December 19, 19b2, unless he made some arrangements in the payment of these taxts by 3:00 P.M. December 19, 1962. Mr. Arnold to let the city know something by this date and time. And if no word was received by this time the attorney would be instructed to file the suit.
