Motion carried by a vote as follows; Alderman parker , Huber, Vandeventer, and Benedict voting yes with no noes. ,q motion by qlderman genedi�t` to creat the office of the Director of publ ic �,�orks for the �ity of Grapevine with Resolution No.� ,�3-�` seconded by Alderman Huber, ��otion carried by the f ollowing vote Alderman parker , Huber, Vandeventer, a nd Benedict voting yes with no noes. q motinn by qlderman Huber to appoint Jesse I . t,t]illiamson as Director of public Works for the �ity of Grapevine , seconded by qlderman genedict. ��otion carried by a vote as follows; plderman parker , Vandeventer , Huber, and genedict voting yes with no noes. q motion by qlderman parker, seconded by ,qlderman Vandeventer to set the salary of Jesse Williamson and R• L • Hanna at �370.00 per month for each m an effective �,�ay 1 , 1963. C• Greener as Fire �hief, flrtotion carried by a vote of plderman g�enedict, pirkle , Huber , �/andeventer, and parker voting yes with no noes. q motion by p,lderman genedict, seconded by Alderman Hu�er to dismiss Raymond D. waters as police patrolman effe�tive p,�ray 1 ,� 1963 and replace him with gurl Richardson. Mr. Richardson was to begin work after he has given his present employer due notice or has a satis- factory agreement with his employer to begin work with the city. Motion carried by a vote of Alderman parker, Vandeveneter , Huber, pirkle , and Benedict voting yes with no noes. �r. Waters was to be notified as of lst of p/ray 1963 and be given two weeks pay with his not�e of dismissial . q motion by ,qlderman Huber, seconded by qlderman genedict to hire Mr, gurl Richardson as a ptrolman at a starting salary of �350.00 per month plus a �10.00 per month exprease allowance for unifomms. Motion carried by a �rote of Alderman parker, Vandeventer, Huber, pirkle , and genedict voting yes with no noes. Police Chief Don Hall ask the council to hire a part time man to work in the Police Department so as to relieve the present men one day a week. To have the working hours cut from 56 hours per week to �8 hours a week. A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Parker to table this matter of hiring an additi �nal man for the Police Department until further study could be made on this request by the Police Chief Lon Hall . Motion carried by Alderman Parker, Vandeventer, Huber, Pirkle , and Benedict voting yes with no noes. Police Chief Don Hall ask that Patrolman Hamp Scruggs be desingated as Ass �t PoliceChi�f so he may act as chief in his absent. A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Huber to designate Hamp Scruggs as Rsstt Chief of the Police Department to act as chief in the absent of the Chief. Moti n carried by a vote of Alderman Benedict, Pirkle , Huber, Vandeventer, and Parker voting yes with no noes. The Council ask Police Chief Hall to keep the Patrol cars in the City proper not patroling out on the highways unless during the time the school buses are loading and unl�ading children along the highways that are in the City Limits. A motion by Alderman Pirkle , seconded by Alderman Ben�dict to adopt a resolution authorizing a summer water rate to be used during the months of June , July, and �ugust for residential users to encourage the home owner or dwefler to spend more time beautifying his lawn and flower gardens with less espense by being able to use more water at a reduced rate . The rate to be used is as follows : Minnimum of 3000 Gallons � 4.50 4000 Gallons 5.00 5000 Gallons 5. 50 6000 Gallons 6.00 7000 Gallons 6.50 All over 7000 Gallons at . 30� per thousand Gallons.
